we all agree that Cook is useless as an inline blocker or at setting the edge in the run game. If you want to increase his snaps you have to consider him a WR and use him as such. Cook out wide occupies a CB and safety just as much as having Wright ot Washington out wide. You then are able to establish a run game with Cook in the game and not tip your hand as to when you are really going to target him.

If a team tries to drop an 8th man into the box to stop the run then you have Britt and Cook go deep and have Hass read the single safety and throw away from him. I like my chances with Cook or Britt one on one with a CB. If the team doesn't bring the 8th man into the box then you run the ball.

If the CBs play way off of Britt/Cook to avoid getting burnt deep then hit the quick slant. Again both big bodied guys who can shield the CB off the ball.

It is simple stuff, but when you have players who are matchup problems you put them in those situations as much as you can. You don't have to be too complex. Just line them up and let them make plays.

Our weapons on offense are CJ, Cook, and Britt. They are the 3 guys that the offense should be built around. Those guys shouls be on the field together 80% of the time.

I love Jared Cook.. He needs to make himself more useful as a blocker if he wants to be in on 100 percent of offensive snaps. He is of no help in the running game. There is no reason to have him in there, and not Thompson who lays people out. If you want to be seen as a TE and not the #1 slot receiver, he needs to be better at blocking.

He is a great, big and great big slot receiver. He is mislabeled as a TE. But he sure is one of the few things we've got going for us, offensively.

All I can take from his comments are if a team that is winning offers him a good deal he's gone. I'm not sure he believes the Titans are close to winning, that's the only problem I see. I mean if an elite team like the Falcons offers him a decent deal I don't think there is any way he stays in Nashville to be in a Chris Palmer offense. :anon:

Since we drafted Cook I have been arguing that he is really just a BIG WR. I argued that in training camp he shouldn't be spending a bunch of time with the TEs, but instead should be perfecting his route running with the WRs and learning how to crack block and shadow block like the WRs do. Having Cook put his hand in the dirt is a waste of talent. Put him in the slot or put him out wide....just put him on the field.

Cook's made at least one key block in pretty much every game lately...

but ignore that. Continue with the silly "he can't block" regurgitated nonsense because you heard someone else say it that heard Jeff Fisher suggest it.

Meh... he's only pancaking people, getting pointed out by commentators for good blocks, etc... Close your eyes.

I welcome you to show me an example of Cook pancaking someone. If you do actually find such an example, I'll bet it's a CB.

Cook did have 1 good block, and yes I do believe it was a DB, but that was weeks ago.

Sadly you make a great point. We need guys like this, who just want to win, on our team. Can't have enough players like that.
