I can't believe Dooley has a higher approval percentage on Volnation than Munch on GoTitans.

There's nothing he has done to make me say that he deserves much approval. We have seen HCs that come in and change the culture immediatelty. Munch is not one of those guys. We see our players whining and moaning after an OT loss. The culture has not changed. Still a lot of crybabies, and munch does not have institutional control of the team, I don't believe.

We look like the same ol' 2nd place franchise, trying to beat the team who dominates the division for a long period of time.We got the Colts, now looks like the Texans. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

I always laugh when I read this, and I'm Griffins biggest critic.

Who would you have pursued at FS??????

Signing him to a multi year deal was the RIGHT move. He's not worth franchise tag money, so we extended him to buy us an extra year or two to replace him.

He's a likable guy so it's really hard for me to hate on him too much. He was put in a really bad position... definitely in over his head as a head coach. Great OL coach. Definitely knows A LOT about the game, but that doesn't always make you a good head coach.

I'm back and forth on Munchak. He makes me happy by beating the Ravens and Steelers, but does awful things like lose to the Jags and Colts. And we get blown out too much.

Still better than Fisher... and I wouldn't call him Fisher 2.0 at all.

If Munchak can get us to 8-8, it will probably get him another season, but in year three it's gotta be playoffs or get fired... this is exactly how it should be for all new coaches. You get three years to do something.

Not too sure how a brutal start to the season is in any way a point to put in the "pro" column. Sure it was a tough schedule but we just flat out weren't ready to play. No doubt about it.

    First sign of trouble? Please.

This entire season has been a disaster. 5 losses by a combined 102 points. 3 wins by a combined 7 points. Wow. Nearly every single unit has taken a huge step back on the field. One of our most talented offensive players wants out. We're way past the "first sign of trouble".

I don't think anyone realistically expect a SB-caliber team. What we did expect was a respectable team.

I guess my main question to you (and any other Munchak "approvers") is what has he done to make you think he's the man for the job? And something besides "we're only slightly worse than I thought we'd be" would be appreciated.

Also, I don't put any stock in his "overachieving" last season. Some people act as if the Titans were the only team affected by the lockout. While it's true that Munch had some additional challenges with implementing a new system, etc. I look at it as if there was a "leveling of the playing field" due to the lockout. No head coach, whether rookie or 10 year vet, had the time they would've liked to have had to prepare for the season.

That said, Munch did a respectable job last season all things considered. But I could see some of his flaws even then. Although I mistakingly thought he'd grow into the job and be better this year. Silly me.

    Does it really matter?

Why waste so much on a guy who plays like one of the worst safeties in the league (other than the Colts game)?

I know Harrison Smith is a SS, but he could've been an option.

Believe me... I know the FS options in FA were awful. Doesn't excuse keeping Griffin, paying him a ton, and letting Finnegan walk.

Fisher got a lifetime to win a Super Bowl, never happened. Munchak will get 3, he's not getting fired.

I'm still on Munchaks side, but if he keeps Gray past this season, I might have to turn on him.

Remember when people said we could start the season 0-6.

yeah, it is worth taking into consideration.

I'm neutral as I stated. I point all of it to last year and he decided to start Locker instead of Hasselbeck which I appreciated (vs Fisher) as a sign that he wants the best player to play and will turn to the young guy over the established vet.

That is ridiculous. It shouldn't take an established franchise with the same coach and personnel as long to get up to speed as a Rookie head coach with a new QB.

Exactly what he said. Much seems like a great person. A great person to have behind the scenes. But in well over his head as a Head coach thus far.
