I rememebr saying Young sucked from the day we drafted him and that I wanted Cutler. Cutler is the only one of them still in the league. I caught hell on this board for talking bad about Young and dumbman for that matter....even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then..I found two :brow:

Vince young would fit in well with Florida or Alabama.. Does he have any NCAA eligibility left? All VY needs is huge O lineman and inferior defenses just like he did at the real UT

His throwing mechanics are maybe 5% of the reason he was not any good.

Check back in the ESPN the Magazine archieves to July12, 2007 and you will see an artice written by Matt Leinart: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=leinart/070606

Matt was annoyed that he fell so far in the draft. He thinks the Texans should have taken him over Mario Williams, the Saints should have considered him over Reggie Bush and the Titans deffinetly should have taken him over Vince Young. It is hillarious. He is interviewing NFL coaches and giving them a hard time about it. Six months after the end of his rookie year. He is even giving Fisher the gears. Fisher tells him it was a coin toss between him and Young. Not sure if Leinart was smart enough to see through that obvious lie.

Vince Young was bust. But on the scale of NFL QB busts Leinart was a heck of a lot closer to Ryan Leaf/JaMarcus Russell territory than Young was. At least Young won some games. At least some teammates liked Young. At least Young was not cut, at the start of the season, in favor of Derick Anderson and an undrafted rookie. At least people can remember NFL games Young played it.

Maybe if Leinart spent more time working on his game than worrying about where he was drafted I might be able to say nicer things about him.

Not that it matters but I've always wondered if VY couldn't learn playbooks or wouldn't put the time and extra effort in to learn them. Seems like he was always portrayed as not willing to put the extra time and effort in the books or film room. If he had spent countless hours studying, watching film, and being a team player he may still be playing today.
