My take on CJ from rewatching the game, still has the cut and change of direction speed but doesn't have the burner speed anymore. He's smart on how he always dices forward instead of taking contact head on. In this game, if the hole was there, he hit it. Took what he could and dove for extra. Made some super star blocks on James Harrison!

He may not be a game breaker or worth that contract but without his running in this game, we lose.

He played better last night, but he is not an every down back! They need to let Harper split carries with him!

I'm still yet to have any faith in Harper.

So you're willing to pay $10+ mil for a guy who's not an every down back?

If he can be a successful runner on our team along with Harper that allows us to have an efficient offense then yes. But that's probably not possible since we need to spend a LOT of money and picks on our o-line

I love how Harper gets a TD on the 1 yard line and suddenly everyone thinks he's a star. Dude has done nothing in his career (also hasn't had many chances).

Even CJ himself would laugh at you for saying this.

Cj is morphing into an OK back now. That kind of production from a late round rookie or someone like Wali Lundy, it would maybe even be a little surprisingly good. But... CJ has put unreasonable pressure on himself, and he spoiled us with his play in his first 2-3 years. And we have unreasonable expectations for him, because he was unreasonably good!

It's just unreasonable to think that he will ever return to that, and he's making an unreasonable amount of money for his amount of production. If he wants to remain, he should take a paycut/restructure based on his production for the last two seasons, and we should draft someone to share the load with him. If he won't restructure and take a big paycut, then he's gotta go.

He would probably gain some respect from the fans if he took the paycut like a man, and continued to work hard. Either he takes a paycut here, or he makes nothing from us, and takes a pay cut to play for someone else. His choice (assuming Titans would have him back, who knows)
Harper, Reynaud, Ringer are not the likely answer either. Harper doesn't really run hard for a guy his size.
