The Titans are in desperate need of playmakers.

Titans receiver Kenny Britt, who has been mostly quiet this season, is hoping he can become one soon.

“Today I felt the most confident I have in this whole year and this whole season to tell you the truth,’’ Britt said Tuesday. “With my eyes, finding the ball when Matt (Hasselbeck) was throwing it, especially coming over the big linemen. So I’m definitely getting back to where I was last year.”

Britt played in 27 snaps in Sunday’s 30-7 loss to the Vikings, but he had just two catches for 23 yards. In three games with the Titans this season, Britt has nine catches for 83 yards. He missed the season opener because of an NFL suspension, and missed the September 30 game at Houston because of an ankle injury.

Offensive coordinator Chris Palmer acknowledged Britt is “a little bit rusty” but said he’s improving every day.

“We just have to be patient with that, and that is the toughest thing,’’ Palmer said. “We know he is a talented player, but like any player you need to build up their stamina and endurance, and their catching skills.”

In time, Palmer believes Britt will become an impact player for the Titans like he was at the start of the 2011 season, before he suffered a season-ending knee injury. Britt caught 17 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns before being injured in Week 3 last year.

“Once he gets his legs under him and everything is in good shape, I think he is a playmaker,’’ Palmer said. “He was a playmaker last year.”

Look, say what you want about the guy...

Kenny Britt is every bit the playmaker that CJ is.

So, are they saying they should have just PUP'd him until week 6?

    It's pretty real bad that:

    A) We are scrambling this hard to find a (as in one, uno) playmaker.
    and
    B) That the two lead candidates are Turd Ferguson and the guy who can't avoid injury or handcuffs for more than a few weeks at a time.

Playmaker? Maybe for one game or so. Does anyone actually know at anytime during the last 4 seasons how many consecutive games Britt has actually played? I know the hamstring issue sidelined him off and on, then the whole knee issues, now the ankle. When I think of a Playmaker I think of someone that's there every week not a half season kind of guy. I would rather have a decent dependable player than a playmaker part-timer. (I do realize that Britt cannot help the fact that he has bad legs)

Maybe not the knee injury, but he didn't seem to be big on things like the cold tub, hydration, stretching, etc.

We'd get those kind of articles when Moss was here. Moss was trying to get him to do the cold tub thing, drink Pedialite to hydrate, etc.

Titans are in desperate need for playmakers eh? You could fill a warehouse with things the Titans are in desperate need of at this point.
