How good a job is Rocker doing? An interesting comparison.

JJ Watt has 8.5 sacks and 8 passes defended.

Every titan defensive linemen combined-Wimbley-Morgan-Casey-Klug-Marks-Martin-Dawson-Egboh-Solomon have 4 sacks and 0 pd! No forced fumbles either.

4 sacks in 5 games combined from our defensive line with no batted balls and no forced fumbles!

Biggest disappointment are Klug and Casey who each have yet to make an impact play. Martin the rookie has half our D-line sacks.

This is pathetic! We have a $7M player, a 1st rd pick and 2 3rd rd picks and can't get any production from those guys? Absolutely pathetic! And our run defense blows also.

All our problems start up front. The offensive and defensive lines are not getting it done. Why?

The OL is made up of a bunch of pansies that wouldn't play on most teams, and are being coached by an idiot. The DL is just being coached by an idiot.

You know what our problem is? We needed a QB when JJ Watt came out. I like Jake, but JJ is 1 in a million, maybe we shoulda drafted him instead... That was my plan if Jake wasn't there, but I was thinking QB league, we have no QB.

I wanted JJ Watt so bad in the 2011 draft. Being a Big 10 guy I saw what he could do.. and was amazed by his talent. We decided to draft a potential franchise QB instead, when we could of traded up in the 2nd and taken Dalton or another QB (Ponder/Locker if fallen).

Oh well, JJ Watt is amazing.. and will be the D. POY.

Actually the purpose of my post was not to tout JJ Watt but to show how inept our line has been. I know we have more talent than that.

We could have taken Watt and then used our 3rd rd pick and traded up with our 2nd rd pick to get Dalton. But then we would not have Ayers and Casey.

I don't think we did the wrong thing i just wonder why our line sucks so damn bad now.

Casey and Klug combined for 9.5 sacks and 5 batted balls last year. What is going on this year?

Klug has been invisible after getting us 7 sacks last year.

Part of it is how the secondary is playing, IMO. There is so much cushion by the CBs (and 20+ for the S), that teams are hitting the short slants and other short to intermediate passes. That allows them to get the ball out faster and nullifies the pass rush.

This is a bit of an over-generalization but a factor among others.

We have talent. The coaches dont know how to use them.

Gotta play each guy to his strength.

Watt, Peterson, Fairley were the guys I wanted at #8... I was thinking strictly defense even though I knew we needed a QB.

It's hard to look back and say we should've drafted Watt over Locker. There's really only one answer to what we should've done... Drafted both of them. Give up a ton to get back into the early first round just like what the Falcons did.

You have to be willing to do stuff like this if you want to succeed. Yes, we would've missed out on Ayers and probably Casey, but it would've been worth it to get a potential defensive MVP.

It hurts me mentally and physically to see Watt do so well... in our division.

We prove year in and year out that we are incapable of finding these type of players... horrible ownership, horrible front office, and horrible coaches.

I loved everyone in that draft: Von Miller, JJ Watt, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Peterson.. the one guy I didn't want was Aldon Smith or Gabbert. Was wrong about Aldon Smith. Nailed Von Miller who many thought wouldn't work in a 43. Look all the stars that went before us.. lol - Von was #1 on my big board and who I was praying fell to #8.
