Coming from a coach that will not blitz and bring any pressure. Style of defense and scheme have something to do with playing soft. We are missing finney and that presence. Our safeties are just soft players. We paid griffin that was a mistake.

An NFL spokesman on Friday said the league is reviewing comments made by Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray on Thursday about his players needing to be more physical without worrying about being fined.

“If you are worrying about that, you are not going to go out and try and blow the guy up,” Gray said on Thursday. “Great football players have to put that out of their mind. You have to say, ‘This is my territory between the numbers, and if you throw the football you better bring the Gator truck.’ And that’s how you have to play. You can’t play timid in the NFL.”

The Gator is a vehicle teams use to take injured players off the field.

Greg Aiello, Senior Vice President of Communications for the NFL, said the league is looking into the matter but declined further comment.

Gray declined comment on Friday. He told ESPN’s Ed Werder his choice of words was “probably bad.”

“This is football, but my choice of words under the circumstances was probably bad,” he said. “If I could take that part of it back, I would. I don’t want guys thinking about injuring people, and when you say ‘Gator truck’ that’s probably what comes up. I just want our guys to be tougher.”

Are you serious? NFL is so pathetic it's unreal. How dare a coach tell his team to nut up. Maybe if they didn't fine everyone for making a hard tackle then Gray wouldn't need to add in that last part about not worrying about being fined.. because they wouldn't have to.

God I'm sick of Goodell and his cronies.

The NFL has nothing to worry about...no tackle we ever make will result in a fine. Unless they can fine Griffin for being too soft.

I think if things keep going like this the NFL will eventually suffer the same fate as boxing. I have always been a big boxing fan since I was little, I used to love to go to live fights, I would go to live matches in Atlantic City all the time, I've seen Oscar Dela Hoya, Roy Jones Jr, Julio Cesar Chavez Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, saw two of the Mickey Ward/Artuto Gatti trilogy fights live to name a few and now boxing is almost a dead sport and I can't remeber the last time I've even watched a boxing match on TV let alone paid to go see one live. Let's hope they don't ruin football as to make it a dying sport too.

Watch Gray get fined for telling his team not to worry about getting fined. So stupid.

It's the same BS as the bounty thing... the NFL is scared of liabilities. They're going overboard just so they can tell all the retired NFL players who will sue the league that they did everything in their power to make the game safer.
