I saw several times, his willingness to lay down and avoid taking a hit. The first one that comes to mind is KVB in overtime. He thinks too much about the big play and just wants an easy path to the endzone. He is not willing or able to create them himself, and he does not have the speed to outrun defenders anymore.

So you are really going to sit here and tell me that him trying to get more, is lack of effort???

Please do go on, but all I ask is you address the question, not point out how much CJ annoys you.

I actually hate defending the guy.

I don't know what CJ you've been watching the past two seasons but a "$50 million playmaker" curling up on the ground as soon as a defender lays a finger on him like he's playing two hand touch football is a running back that looks to me like he doesn't care. Other than today, name one game this year where he looked like he cared or even wanted to be on the field? Hell he couldn't even outrun Vandenbosh last week, an old DE! He looked like he was taking a leisurely jog through the park. I didn't say anything about the rest of team not trying or not caring. I think the defense is tackling like a bunch of girls and we're at the bottom of almost every defensive category but if you've read any of my previous posts I blame the poor play on the the fact that I think our DC sucks. I think our play on the field does not reflect our true talent level and if a team is underperforming its talent level I blame that on coaching.

If you think "CJ I got paid" has been running with the same passion he used to play with since he got his big contract then the only one that's being stupid would be you, not us fans that have eyes that aren't distorted by drinking the old "CJ2k koolaide"!

Scared of? Nah... but it is the most productive part of our team. Destroy our passing game and you've got us.

We're a passing team, now. No need to put any focus on the run against us... just make sure the passing game isn't effective and everything else will fall into place.

If you face a running team, you focus on the running game, not the passing game.

It's a viable defensive strategy that has worked in the NFL for years.

Funny you should mention falling down. If he had fell forward every time he was given the ball in the first 3 games... he would have put up more yards than he did.

Thanks... it's a philosophy that makes sense.

I'm not saying it's what happened... I'm merely saying it can be argued because it is viable.

We don't run well... so why bother defending it...

He isn't done, he's just no longer elite. He's an average running back, with above average speed. He can't break a tackle and needs blocking to put up #s. Cares about his-self first. Gives up when it's not working.

He can still be a 1000 yard back. An $8 million 1000 yard back. $8000 per yard, seems fair.

I think it was the first play in OT. He could have had KVB beat to the outside, but he tried to cut back and ended up getting tackled for a huge loss. I honestly felt like he did not want to show that he could not beat him to the outside. 9/10 a runningback takes that play and turns it into a big gain.

throwing yourself onto the ground before contact is a lack of effort.
running around like a chicken with its head cut off does in fact require effort, but it is totally without thought and as you see totally without positive results. The only thing ammusing about those runs was knowing that :cj: actually thought he could reverse field and run around 11 guys

I dont think he isnt trying, I just think he CANT do it anymore. His ability to do that, is gone.
