Well it wont get much better this week because we play so we should be proably expect the same thing from the ground game or even worse at this point I'll be shocked if CJ gets more than 10 carriers this week I truly believe Palmer has given up on CJ already this season.

Yeah I for I kept having hope that CJ return to his old form but after watching him on sunday not being able to beat vanden bosch around the edge at that point I gave up on CJ, I'm ready for us too start a new running back which wont happen anytime soon so until pass all you want Palmer I dont care anymore how many carries he gets I'm done with him so yeah I'm off the it's all the offensive line's fault bandwagon now.

There's times that CJ gets 1-3 carries a half. He's averaging 11 carries a game. To put that in perspective:

NE, CJ had 5 of his 33 carries in the first drive of the first game of the year. 8 Carries in the first quarter, that's ~25% of his total carries in one quarter of the year in the NE game. The 2nd half of that game he got 1 single carry.

San Diego, CJ got 5 whole carries in the first half. He had a 7 yard run, then they stop giving him the ball. Then in the 2nd half he gets 2 "real" carries plus a garbage carry to end the game.

Detroit, CJ gets nearly 20 yards on 3 carries on the 2nd drive, then doesn't get the ball handed to him except for one more carry in the half. 2nd Half he does pretty well, couple of 10+ yard runs. Then OT is when he tried to do too much.

Nearly half of his carries have been in 2 quarters of football, first quarter NE game and 3rd quarter of the Detroit game (15). Hard to get anything going like that.

while you might be right about the hard too get anything going like that. The logic fails with the assumption there is anything left too get going in the first place.

At this point :cj: should be a situational back only. Just my opinion

Pssssshhhhhhhh.... be quiet. You are making too much sense.

People on here are screaming for him to be cut yet fail to realize our entire running scheme is different and running is an afterthought now. Hell, Locker had 24 pass attempts to CJ's 4 in first half of the lions game and they were all positive.

Like simili was pointing out, the offense is built around Locker now......not CJ.

You want Locker to fling it out? Go four, five wide. That's not helping the run game. You got the subpar line.....and now you have to rely more on your recievers to hold the necessary blocks. There isn't any commitment to the running game. It shows in the schemes and the play-calling. When is the last time anyone has even SEEN Q. Johnson? Anybody?

Commence ROFL CJ SUX beCAUSE he says hes playmaKER and HeDOEs NothiNG. SchemES is an EXcuSE.

Schemes sometimes make players and they sometimes fortify a player's strengths. You don't put one of the greatest man defender cb in Asomugha in ZONE. You grab a reciever that has played with Peyton for years and you speed up the tempo of the offense to his liking.

No it makes perfect sense to expect our superstar running back to match the production he had in a condensed power scheme to a spread out, no fullback with a delay in handoff because the halfback is beside the quarterback and not directly behing him.

    Schemes matter.

Your logic is that you know that CJ is done. However you fail to realize a few things. First off, Most runningbacks get their bulk of yards on two to three runs a game.....yet you point that as a flaw of CJ's. A regular run where an average running back gets twenty yards, Cj take it to the house. It's still there.

That strength is takening away by spreading the offense out. You want to cluster as many defenders as possible in one spot. One good block can hold three defenders, which allows other blockers to roam down field. Watch the power toss plays of 2008 and 2009 for a better picture.

You said you want CJ to be a situational back......his amount of carries proves he is just that and the overall offensive philosophy reflects that.

the little guy is getting paid too be a starting back.

If the scatback redoes his contract, which would be his fourth BTW, then he might be worth something

Then give him starter carries.......btw quinn comes in and CJ looks like CJ again. Imagine that.
