I actually feel good about the matchup. The DL showed me more this preseason so I think the Patsies will need to keep in Gronk and Hernandez to chip the DEs. Hopefully, that slows their routes and allows the Titans DTs to get a push. It's all about pressure on Brady, IMO.

Offensively, the Titans have to play ball-control by stringing together first downs. Here is where Locker's legs become big weapons. I think we'll see a lot of high-percentage stuff to Cook and CJ in the flat to keep the chains moving.

They only beat one team with a winning record last season... and it took them all the way to the AFC Championship against the Ravens to do it.

    We had a winning record.

One of the things I learned about the Titans pass rush from this preseason is that if you don't double team Morgan and Wimbley, they're getting your QB. Little Danny Woodhead wont be enough to slow us down, so Gronk will absolutely have to chip someone before going out on routes.

We might just be able to contain him because of our pass rush forcing him to stay behind.

Well good thing they have another RB named ridley who is their starter! Not woodhead. Its gonna be a massacre b/c we wont be able to get pressure on brady. The only good challenge we had all preseason was seattle and they manhandled us up front!

We sacked Flynn like 3 times...

The Pats are struggling to protect Brady.

Have you seen the Pats this preseason? Brady got knocked around every time he took the field. Their O-Line isn't what it was. As long as we can get something going on offense, I think we should be able to hang with the Pats.

Tampa was the team that kept our pass rushers from doing much.
And Woodehad is their 3rd down RB, he'll be busy NOT making plays on 3rd downs cause he'll have to help block.

I expect the Pats to cover the spread, but in the NFL anything can happen on any given Sunday, especially the first game. For most of the pre-season we had Vollmer and Mankins out, who are both back now and it remains to be seen what happens with Waters. The Pats played very vanilla in the preseason with simple protection schemes. I expect some growing pains, but the O-line will be nothing like as bad as it was so far. If there is one thing I'm concerned about the least is Gronk's ability to block. He can throw a block and get down field with ease.
The '09 game has nothing to do with this game, completely different teams for both teams, and I think both got better. Looking back on it though, that game was a massacre, Both Titans QBs combined for negative seven passing yards. Brady was taken out 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter, and Hoyer still came in and scored, the Pats could have broke the Bears' record of 73-0 if they kept Brady in. I doubt we will ever see another victory margin like that for any team in the near future. Chris Johnson had a great game that day though.

The key to victory is to put Brady on his back. If Brady is pressured and hit often he doesn't do as well. Giants did an excellent job keeping him wondering where the pressure was coming from.

That Video doesn't show any blocking though. It was a blindside hit and run to his route. I mean I am sure he is okay blocking..... but why show that video to prove it?
