Do you plan on carrying with armor piercing rounds too? If not, you wouldn't have stood a chance against this guy. Good luck though...

"This guy" is not the norm. It is extraordinarily rare considering how violent our country is and how easy it is to get a weapon.

Even with body armor I doubt this kid could have taken a direct shot. He would have been on his back.

The news was reporting that most of his equipment was bought within the last 6 months. His body armor with fast shipping. Should not a background check have the ability to see how much he has bought within the past 6 months are so? It is obvious with the amount of rounds he purchased, he needed to be checked out. That needs to be addressed.

Also, just to top things off. When they talked to his mother, she said something along the lines of "you found the right man". Okay, then why does he not have a history of mental issues? You are telling me that you are not surprised this happened, and not once did you take him to a psychiatrist? People these days, jesus christ. This whole situation is pissing me off. They ought to throw the parents in jail also.

Well hell. Let's just make murder and rape legal then. The people who want to do it will still do it anyway.

Actually, you know what? Let's just knock down all the courthouses. We don't need law. After all, its useless.

And let's disband the police. Hell, it will be cheaper to just let us defend ourselves with assault weapons and body armour. Plus, they are just a tool of the tyrannical government anyway.

How come if I go buy 10 boxes of sutafed, the cops will be at my door when I get home, but if I buy gas grenades and body armor and an assault weapon and 6k rounds of ammo, nobody cares?

Start tracking body armor and ammo purchases like it is pseudoephedrine?

No matter what you do you will not stop criminals from getting weapons, armor ect.

I understand everyone is outraged and everyone wants a solution now.

    There isn't an easy answer.
Perhaps it is more of a sign of how poorly mental illness is understood and handled.

Yea why not? I mean 6,000 rounds is excessive and the point is not to stop criminals outright, it is to reduce it. You cannot take the attitude of, just because you can't stop it, just turn the other way.

And I agree, metal illness needs better funding and education. But in this scenario it would not have mattered.

I actually read that the other day. Decent article.
