[IMG]If you hold the No. 1 pick in your fantasy football draft, which should be held in late August at the earliest in my book, ESPN’s fantasy crew says you should take Houston running back Arian Foster.I’d be awfully happy if he was my headliner, but as The Displaced Yanks annually stink, there are slim odds I’ll get the top pick. The top of the list is LOADED with an AFC South presence. Are they slotted accurately for you?Chris Johnson is a little risky at No.

My goal this year... Cam Newton. Not sure if I'd take him #1, but it would be hard to pass him up.

If you had him last year, chances are your team won it all.

Also, LeSean McCoy is a better pick than Foster.

If Locker isn't named the starter, he will fall all the way to the final few rounds or go unseated. I'll draft him late if that's what happens. He will start at some point... and he was a fantasy machine last year. He was putting up what most good FF QBs put up in an entire game, but he was doing it in one quarter.

I was unfortunate enough to have CJ on my team last year, but lucky enough to get McCoy ... I won several games just off of McCoy alone. Definitely my best pick.

I unfortunately had CJ too. I pity who drafts him this year... the first 6 games will be rough on the Titans run game. But after that, I'll try to pick him up relatively cheap on a trade.

I think CJ is a good pick this year... in the late 2nd or early 3rd.

Anybody who picks McCoy as their first overall deserves to lose their fantasy league. Rogers would be a way better pick.

If that wasn't your first post, you'd be getting an "it sucks" from me.

RBs are more important to take early because the quality ones will all be gone by the end of round 2.

Also, RBs get 1 point per 10 yards and 6 points per TD. QBs get 1 point per 25 passing yards and 4 points for a passing TD.

I would much rather wait until the later rounds to get a decent QB than pick one with my first pick unless I have a very late first round pick and all RBs I like are gone.

Those numbers change from league to league and are not set in stone. Getting a QB who puts up 35+ TDs and 4500+ yds is perfectly fine for a 1st overall pick, even if the points per passing yards and TDs are cut. Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady are better candidates for #1 overall in 2012. It is a passing league and those 3 guys have some of the best targets in the league.
