It doesn't matter how good he is compared to our past QBs, it matters how good he is compared to the other QBs in the league. We won't be playing against KFC on Sundays. It all about wins and losses, and we won't be seeing many Ws if Hasselbeck is in there.

Also we had a much heavier pass offense last year than we have ever had. Any decent QB is going to have increased yards passing going form our past offense to the current offense. Look at Hasselbeck's pass attempts compared to KFCs.

Well the last several years the Titans never had a QB start all 16 games, and once you start going back too far in the past, throwing for 3500 yds would put you in elite QB status.

This year 20 Qbs passed for over 3000 yds, 10 for over 4000, and 3 for over 5000 yds. The NFL is different now than it was. 3500 yds isn't that impressive compared to the rest of the Qbs last year.

Game for game, KFC in 2010 was not that much statistically different than MH in 2011.

Hass totally sucked in the later part of the season. He had 8 TDs to only 3 ints in the first four games and ended up throwing only 10 more TDs and 11 ints the rest of the way. He had 516 attempts which is why he put up decent overall yardage. As a comparison Hass only averaged 6.9 yards per pass. Locker averaged 8.2 (which is right up there with the best QBs by the way).

The politics of this matter points to Hass getting the nod, with jake locker seeing enough PT to keep him happy, especially if they're winning .

If they try a "dual quarterback system" crap, I'm boycotting the Titans until they stop it. That stuff doesn't even work in college.

They wont though. They WANT locker to start, as they DID pick him #8, and got criticized for reaching.

I'll never understand how he was a reach there when the year before he could've gone #1.. sounds more like a steal. Only thing I can agree with ESPN on now is who should've won the fight last night. Total bs.

wait...is that difficult? Look at our list of QB's...none of them are anything to brag about except for Steve McNair and he played in a rush 1st/2nd offense..

MH threw the ball more than anyone else too

I agree. Look at Ryan Tannehill, who went #8 this year. I'd say we got a far better prospect for the 8 pick than the fins did.

And when its all said and done, I think Locker will outshine even Newton.

There is no way this happens. The one thing Munch wants to avoid is a QB controversy. Giving them both playing time will create a big controversy. The spot will be given to one or the other.

Personally I think that Locker gets the nod going into week 1 unless he just flat out sucks this preseason.

Everyone hates the idea, but I would be interested to see the results if a team implemented a specific strategy and never waiver from it.

Like, if Hasselbeck wins the job... let Jake play every 2nd quarter regardless. Hasselbeck is old, and Locker needs experience. Reversing that of course makes no sense.

What I really want to see is a team that commits to the 2 point conversion. Go for it every time no matter what until the 4th. I'd like to see if a team could successfully score on 50% or more.
