    pretty much my point.
Sony is doing this because they see that this may be implemented at some point. they want to claim this as their idea (though they're probably not the first to discuss it), even if they never intend on launching this model on their own.

there's already advertising on xbox, not during gameplay as such, but you can't get into your dashboard very far without running into some form of advertising.

Again Gizmondo did have ads mid game. The thing was a total failure.

I honestly can't remember seeing ads on the dashboard before my Xbox went bye-bye, so either it's not noticeable or I didn't update it.

Do you find it annoying, or in the way?

I may be in the minority here, but if I see advertisement in things I have paid for, I do my best not to buy the product. Last thing that comes to mind is Old Spice body wash.

Imagine the advertising options for this and his forehead.

BeyondBlue would be a good start.

I could see Kleenex or Summers Eve doing great with Young.

Depends on the advertisement. If it is annoying, I won't get it. Otherwise if it isn't in my face I don't really care.

If it interrupts the game, I won't be happy. Though it won't happen. It's consumer suicide.

The best type of advertisement that works on me, are things like free samples. Say I open a game or DVD and they have a coupon for the newest energy drink or something. That to me is good advertisement, anything else usually causes me to not purchase the product.
