WHY! The man is 37 years old! He is not our QB, he is the backup, and he don't have many years left of that!

Conversely, Jake Locker didn't get the practice reps to prepare for the Saints either.

People can argue about whether or not Jake's success was warranted or a fluke all day long and never agree. However, I don't see how people can look at what Hass did last year and say that should be enough to keep Locker on the bench. If Hass was lighting up scoreboards or beating the top teams or even just winning the games he needed to win to make the playoffs I might be able to understand, but he didn't do any of that. He played AVERAGE. That's it. AVERAGE. He struggled to move the team down the field a lot of the time, couldn't win the games we should've won at critical points in the season to make the playoffs, and looked completely out classed by better competition. Why would you let your 1st rd QB sit on the bench for that level of play?

I don't think it's fair to say Hasselbeck was average. While he was pretty bad in some games, he was also pretty phenomenal in a few. He did lead the team to a 9-7 record. He had the best QB season this franchise has seen since McNair for Christ Sake.

However, I am a fan of seeing Locker start ASAP.

Locker needs to start. If you think otherwise then you don't have a brain.

Excellent and convincing argument, will continue to take opinion with grain of salt.

Isn't that the definition of average (on average)?

Terrible in some games, phenomenal in others?

It's the issue people have with grading QBs like Tony Romo. He's complete garbage some games, fantastic others.

Being above the titans average for QB doesn't qualify him as guaranteed starter over the future qb. While it's nice he has out produced some real lack luster qbs of late that we had, when you compare him to other NFL talents, he is also nothing special.

Without bothering with stats and just going off the eye test you find quickly that he has really bad lofty deep balls, does a bad check down Charlie routine, and doesn't energize the team. He seems to understand the game well and has a high football IQ but doesn't have the ability to physically get it done as a starter anymore.

Great tutor for locker. Has the right mentality to win. Wants to win, leads the offense and tells off teammates when needed. He is a backup tho. A relatively usable backup that has and will continue to groom locker, even from the bench.

    It's go time, Locker!

Opinions should always be taken with a grain of salt but it is kind of obvious. You'll see by week eight.

Yeah, put in Jake Locker. That way we can finally figure out that he was a waste of a pick (he shouldn't of gone earlier than the 4th round) and we can move on to another quarterback.

We're just prolonging the inevitable. Jake Locker isn't our quarterback of the future. You can't fix a problem like poor completion rates.

    Shoulda drafted Any Dalton...
