I went on a mission trip to Haiti, and yes, I think that if we had all pooled the money we spent on getting there, and just sent the money, some more could have been done to help down there.

But those mission trips don't just touch the people there. They affect the people that go in deeper ways than the people there. The experience of seeing third world poverty in the flesh, and living in it, will change you in ways you can't imagine. Everyone I know that has gone tells their own stories of the impact it had in their lives, and the change in stirred in them. Little things, at different moments, hit you randomly when you're back.

I've never felt noble, or all-worthy, or that I had done some great thing for humanity. It does make you see how trivial some of the things we put value on actually are.

I wish everyone could get out of their life's framework and look at living and the world from some place entirely different from where we usually venture. It would help more things become understood, and lessen conflicts.

Currently 70%, which means it was about 52% in 2002, which was waaaaaaay lower than most of the other states in the south that were in the mid-60s. Only one way to go when you're that low...

Still a great feat though. Wisconsin and Vermont are the highest at 90% and 89%. That's unreal.

^Well, you not understanding why the starving don't just "up and leave to where food is" kind of helps see why you don't get why people live where they don't prefer.

Honestly- who in Tennessee is living here because they love the state? Don't know about you guys, but most people I know want to move from here, they've just never done it. And there are many reasons behind why.

Think about it... what does TN have to offer anyone? People move here for work, or don't leave because of work, or because it's all they know.

I think we're #10 on most lists of "wanted to live in", but I don't understand what it is?... What's different from TN to Arkansas? Alabama? Georgia? Kentucky?... Very little- and how many of you want to live in any of those states?

    Trust me

I have written many last minute papers, and they all have had the majority of the content come from Wiki.......

....and my GPA is above a 1.9:sad2:

Trust me, I have written a few papers with Wiki sources myself but I usually backed it up with a more acdemically accepted journal or article source and even then I got lectured for it because I ignored the part in the syllabus thats in bold letters: NO WIKI SOURCES CAN BE USED!! Lol.

I in no way advocate that wiki is bad though, to me it is one of the best for finding the basic research information and it's authored in plain english, and without a whole lot of uneeded fluff. If all a person used is Wiki then you are not really interested in the assignment because like you pointed out, Wiki is the easy way out for procrastinators.

That's just on the losers that you hang with.

Most everyone I know has chosen to live here and loves it. There are tons of awesome things to do here, but then again you are too fragile to even get in lake water so ya know...

Born and raised. I used to take TN for granted, but then after the army, and Arkansas, and Texas..I appreciate TN more than ever. Amazing state. Beautiful forest and country and hills.

Only other place I would want to live is Florida... just so I could have a chance to hook up w/ casey anthony.

I know a lot of people that live in my county that still won't go into our lake water lol. It may not be as blue and clean as Center Hill or Dale Hollow's water but its just as refreshing. :)

I come back to visit for family and stuff. Considering moving back permanently. My only problem is convincing the wife to leave her mom and friends.

But I love the area down there.

Deuce, leave for a while, it'll make you appreciate it more when you get back.
