I like it. Just from reading over the comments from Munch and Webster I'm getting a strong feeling it's going to be a DE/OLB so it really could be down to Hightower or Upshaw. I don't think Upshaw falls to us though but it could happen. Hightower should be there at 20 though.

I don't like Hightower or Upshaw really, I think both will turn out to be rather average players. Also neither really fits our scheme.

I agree with this but if you look at it Ayers didn't really fit our scheme last year until Gray made some adjustments to the defense and from what we've read so far it looks like there will be a lot more changes when camp starts. We're going into a hybrid defense of a 43/34 where we can have guys move back or put their hand in the dirt.

I don't know about you guys but I would be very excited drafting a DE/OLB that can do this for us. Imagine having...

    Morgan-Casey-Klug/Rookie-Wimbley

    Ayers-McCarthy-Hightower

There are so many different scenarios we can do with this defense and every player can move around a bit. We can drop Wimbley back and go with a 3-4 or bring Ayers in and go with a 5-2. Honestly I'll take a defense like this rather than a strict 4-3 or 3-4 and you're kind of stuck in that scheme.

We need another DT that can play inside and also as a 5 tech. Would make this defense very interesting.

Although Upshaw and Hightower will probably go on to have decent careers, I have zero interest in them for the Titans, Kuechly is a different story

Not to make this sound rude, but I think you are gonna miss the train when it comes to us becoming less conventional 43 and more versatile 43/34 aspects. Switch up. Kuechly is a solid lber. And Should be one of the top guys on the board, but Hightower is a bit more versatile and could quicken the hybrid transition.

This year two draft under munch and company and what's going on in the defense really has me excited.

My newest mock draft for us:

1st: CB Dre Kirkpatrick (I put some points on this pick)
    2nd: DT Derek Wolfe
    3rd: C Phillip Blake
    4th: DE Jake Bequette
    5th: OLB Demorio Davis
    6th: DT Akiem Hicks
7th: FB, WR, or LB Vontaze Burfict

I could see our draft going similar to this...I wouldn't be surprised if we traded up in the 2nd to acquire a bigger DT or even Vinny Curry(although I think Wolfe will be a great pro)
