Yeah if there is no one else there that we feel is a "set"player we have to take Curry. I know BPA is normally what goes on in the mid first round to late picks. BUT, he plays like Trent Cole, thats what jumps out to me. sort of like JPP two years ago, hes raw but super talented. With the rookie cap the way it is now, and us being able to find some gems in later rounds recently i say the risk is very low on taking him. Even if he doesnt work out. Im sure somebody we take between rounds 3-6 will be a starter or player for us for years. Casey and Klug last year, Finnigan for a few examples.

The way we are going about the FA, BPA is happening first round. Whatever football player slips, is what we will get.

It reminds me of the way the Pats F.O. works. I hate their guts but I have to admit that they are one hell of a great F.O.

Vinny Curry would be a steal in the 2nd.

    1. BPA
    2. Curry, DE
    3. Philip Blake, OG/C

Was just about to post that about him being a steal in the 2nd. That would be huge for us. I'm not a big fan of any DE in the 1st round really. I'd love Dre Kirkpatrick or Stephon Gilmore at 20 and going DE in the 2nd and either Philip Blake or Ben Jones in the 3rd. Really prefer Blake between the two though. That would definitely be a monster draft for us.

I don't see the similarities. The Pats don't wait for players to fall to them in the draft and then take the BPA. Their strategy is clearly to trade down to stockpile picks and then try to find a bunch of hidden gems.

If you want to compare the Titans' strategy to one of the NFL's best teams, maybe the Packers are a better option. Ted Thompson is always steadfast in his plan of drafting BPA. He almost never reaches for need.

Problem is, I'm about 99% sure Vinny will NOT be available at our 2nd.

The difference is that the Titans are trying to fill their roster badly right now while the Patriots were trading down because they felt as if they didn't need to fill any spots with high picks at that moment. They traded us their 3rd round pick for our 2nd the next year because they didn't need a 3rd round pick and we needed Jared Cook. Once we get our roster filled out I could definitely see our FO making some moves like that. We are such a young team with a very exciting future ahead.

We also didn't think Akeem Ayers would be available for us in the 2nd last year. More and more mocks have Vinny slipping to us....they also have Zach Brown and Kevin Zeitler slipping to us. I would be estatic with any of these picks.
