lol, i'm not saying its a big importance. But gotta admit what look more bad-a on a jersey, "[Bacarri] Rambo" or "Johnson"

Names don't matter, but its easier to get national recognition from a player who has a unique name from a common name.

I think some of you are over thinking this. From a fans perspective, at least in my eyes, there are a few important factors that need to be looked at. Sure if you wanna get nit-picky you can list every singe attribute a player can have but those are for the football professionals if you ask me. Sadly, as fans, we don't get to watch much tape of players not like NFL front offices, we just get the occasional highlight for the most part.

    Speed
    College Production
    Tape
    Character concerns

    and common sense of course.

I like to consider their college performance and against what competition quite a bit.

For instance, you know SEC player has played against superior competition so their stats are more legit.

#1 measurables #2 character #3 production (what was he asked to do) #4 How would he fit with our team. #5 upside and potential .......so many teams project a guy to a level he can't get to. Most draftable players have been playing football for 10 years or so and somehow when they get drafted they are going to become something they have never been. Lets bring in guys and tell them to do what they do best!

On field production. - does he pop out to you?does he wow you?

Measurables - depending on tape and measurables a lot of thing can be determined along with where and who they played against.

Character - stand up cat? Problem child? I want multiple years of big production on field with minimal peeps of his inner self.

Durability - 3 games or 16, can he play for a season?

Senior bowl and such games and practices - shows what their talent level is comparable to others. That's a big deal.

Overall, it all starts with what you see on tape, follow it up with more study time on the overall package.

One thing I left out was ceiling/potential. while this is how most NFL scouts view this as a top priority, it one of my lowest. Mainly being because unless it's a QB, DE, or OT, I try to keep an even head on prospects on how big of a spark they can provide or how much they will help overall. "potential" drafting is very risky, because it also depends on the other points and if the have that football drive.
