Samuel gives us an upgrade at CB even from last year with Finnegan.

well worth a 3rd round pick. It will probably be conditional anyways...(He has to get X amount of interceptions or X amount of Pass Deflections for it to be a 3rd)

No I was saying Wyatt always denies stories.

"Titans are not interested in Moss"

"Titans are not interested in Manning"

    etc

Amazing how bad reporters are today with no consequences. Seems like it's all guess work nowadays.

How many 33-year old CBs are as good as Champ Bailey. He's the exception.

With his injury history and decline in production, I don't see him being nearly as productive in two seasons. I sure don't see the Titans trading a three for a 31-year old they'd play at nickel.

And what would Samuel be willing to accept in a new contract? No way the Titans take on his current deal which is $9.4M in '12 and $11.4M in '13. That's the reason Finnegan no longer is with the Titans. He may very well be released with that kind of base and the Titans not have to give up any picks for him.

Samuel is 31 and in the last year of his deal he will be 33. At no point while playing for the Titans (just for arguments sake) will he be 35 unless he is resigned. Also, their are many CB's that are productive at a late age. Off the top of my head I can think of Champ Bailey, Charles Woodson, Ronde Barber, Nick Harper, Chris McAlister, and Al Harris off the top of my head. I want to say Dion Sanders played in his late 30's as well but I forget exactly when he went to the MLB. He did however put in two okay years as a Raven at 37 and 38 years old.

Now their all a wide range of talent level but all of those CB's where NFL starters in their mid 30's

Nick Harper? I thought we were discussing if Samuel was worth a third-round pick and the dollars he'll takeā€”not whether or not there are DBs in the league playing in their mid-30's. Again, Bailey is the exception and he isn't playing up to his contract anymore.

Is Samuel a shut down corner right now? Will he be in two years? The Eagles want to move him because they are on the hook for $20M over the next two seasons and they have some holes to fill in other areas just as the Titans do.

I don't see the fit with the Titans because they won't pay his current contract and really have no need to play him outside. This is the same boat the team was in with Finnegan where his value was much higher with another team who would use him outside. Add in the draft pick and I think the odds here are even less than resigning Finnegan was.

Very happy to see the team deny we want him, makes it easier to steal him away instead of giving up a valuable 3rd rounder. He's only worth a 4th or lower IMO.

It's a known fact Fisher was a buffoon when it came to evaluating talent, don't hold his horrible draft history against Munch & Co. Today's Titans need their 3rd round picks, just look at last years draft.
