And American Cinema needs to grow a pair. Now I'm almost never the type to say "oh, the book is so much better!" and a lot of those people annoy me anyway, but in this case, yes, the book was so much better. Characters were far more interesting and definitely more violent. I understand there's always going to be controversy when it deals with gore and children on screen, but if you're too scare to deal with it, don't make a movie on The Hunger Games. Compared to Battle Royale, this movie was child's play.

Overall, it wasn't a bad movie... solid, I was mildly entertained and moved, should have been much better... it was missing the heart and tension the book had.

Gotta give credit to the lead role (Jennifer Lawrence), who also played Mystique in X-Men: First Class, she looks like she's the next big female actress.

Battle Royale didn't hold back, which was why it was so great. The Hunger Games book was brutal, but the movie was a dull family film and couldn't capture the heart and tension the book delivered.

I'm going to write a series of novels for young adults about something good and original because no one else can't seem to figure it out. Oh, and I want to get rich.

Looked like The running Man stole from the Hunger books... the original story had nothing to do with that plot. Of course, hollywood did that to most stephen king: borrow the title and throw the story out the window.
