About the recent batch of free agents visiting and then choosing other teams? Or just think they're mid level guys and we'll be ok? I wish we could lock up one of the centers but I'll be happy taking one in the 2nd/3rd round.

    Nope

Young team, all new coaching staff, shortened offseason, with an abnormally weak running game, all while finishing 9-7 and losing two winnable games. Not worried, looks like we have a tough schedule next year but it will be good for a young team. They have already shown they can play anyway.

I'm not worried that we didn't get the FAs who visited but I am a little worried that we still haven't addressed the DT position. Don't get me wrong adding Wimbley helps and I love Casey, and have a lot of faith in him, but losing J. Jones is gonna hurt more than the FO thinks if we don't bring in more capable bodies there.

Just like we did when AH left and we brought in Haye. And like last year when we brought in Shaun Smith thinking that would be enough. Getting no push from the middle is the biggest reason we don't get sacks.

Getting Hutchinson is gonna help out on the O-line and getting rid of Amano at C should fix things even more but the million dollar question is who are we gonna replace him with.

So to answer your question I'm not worried about missing out on FAs that have visited but I am a bit worried about DT and C.

Every team has free agents who visits and doesn't sign. I'm hoping we aren't signing them because they aren't a good fit rather than it being they prefer to be elsewhere.

    Shows we are diligent.

They are probably signing elsewhere because they know they we won't put the most money on the table. Not worried. Sounds like all FAs actually love Munch

Honestly, I'm more worried about our secondary. I don't think our pass rush will be better than last year but without Finnegan, that extra time opposing QBs have will be even more devastating. We lost one of the few good players we had on defense. They really need to hit big in the draft or we'll be looking at a long season, especially with the schedule we have this year.

A solid pass rush will make a bad secondary look like world beaters

I don't get all that caught up in FA or take too much stock in what it means. This isn't baseball where championships can be bought. You just need to look at the most recent "Dream Team" from last season the eagles. IMO, FA in football should only be used to find a piece or two that is missing, we have done that. By definition you are probably overpaying, also consider that these players are only FA because someone else decided to let them go for whatever reasons. Don't get me wrong, you can find certain players and address certain needs. We have found a Pass rusher and replaced a horrid guard, both moves should be big upgrades over what was there. I would like to find a center, but there is always the draft and or trade.

Once we didn't tag Finny I felt we had 3 main needs to address and they were finding a starting DE, starting center, and depth at CB.

I only see us having accomplished one of the 3 in signing Wimbley. So yes I'm a little worried that we won't come out of FA ready to draft BPA.

I think we can still find depth at CB in FA...Chris Carr, Trufant, Newman. I also really like the depth in this draft class.

I think we can still find an upgrade to our center issues as well. Dan Koppen and Todd Mcclure have both been solid starters on playoff teams.

I really hope we can fill the CB and center spots before the draft so that we can really go BPA.
