Okay now that the Peyton pursuit is over and it seems as if we are back in sloth mode in Free Agency (even though we REALLY need a new center). :hmm:

I was curious what direction do you guys think we should go with our first round pick?

I see some people indicating that we should give up our first round and trade for Wallace but I don't agree with that. For the first time in a long time, I think we have a really good young nucleus offensively.

With that being said, I am personally hoping we go DT. Love him or hate him, we really haven't defensively been the same since Big Al left. All of us know everything starts up front. I would love to see a dominate DT in the trenches playing for the Titans allowing our upcoming young upcoming LBs to fly around the field.

I was pretty strongly for taking nothing but a defensive end, but several mocks have us taking on OL. I am starting to not hate the idea as much.

I said it before the start of free agency, that no name really stands out to me. They still don't but I think I would feel safer on one of the OL guys right now. Maybe because it is a deep class at end, but they all just blend in.

    BPA. Always BPA.

I hope that BPA turns out to be DL, S, C, or WR. If we take any one of those positions without reaching I'll be thrilled.

Safety to replace Babineaux/Griffin long term.
C,G. Hutchinson is short term. Bandaid on a bullet wound.r
    WR
    DT
    DE

I think we are set at corner. A 2nd rd or later pick, or free agent signing would be good insurance.

Linebacker to eventually place witherspoon in a season or two is in order, roid hound McRath is not that guy, IMO. Rennie Curran was a wasted pick.

DE to make up for the Morgan pick that may be possibly a bust (I will reserve judgment until after seeing him this season)

Let's just put it this way: positions I am confident in:

    QB
    T
    CB
    LB
    HB (questionable)
    TE

I pretty much feel the same way. Kind of reminds me of 2010 with Morgan, Graham, JPP, Hughes, Dunlap. We went with the "safest" guy and look how that's turned out for us.

I'm not quite ready to give up on Morgan though. He was coming back from a very tough injury last year. But I think most of us agree that if he fails to impress this year, then he pretty much deserves to be labeled a bust.

He'll probably be a solid player for us for years to come. But you expect more than "solid" from a 16th overall pick.

The way the draft is set up, we should go DE, then DT with our 2nd, not our 1st. There's more depth at DT than DE, so I'd personally go 1st - DE, 2nd - DT.

What if BPA turned out to be a QB? Would you still draft BPA?

Well, no. I think that's the one and only case where you don't go BPA. When you already have a guy on your roster who you think is the future of your franchise you have to give him a chance. (Although I suppose there is an argument to be made from the opposite side of this, given the new rookie salary structure.)

But it's a different story with every other position on the field. I don't think we are SO SET at any one position to the point where it'd be a good idea to pass up the BPA (again, non-QB).
