Did the Titans open a daycare in the team facilities?

He might be, but I have issues taking guys with known character issues now. I admit, I loved the PacMan pick at the time, I just can't help but feel these guys don't concentrate solely on football. Even if they are not running around getting in trouble.

We are only one good draft away from serious contenders, and I would hate to have us set back or distracted by someones character issues.

i would go de/dt or dt/de in the first 2 rounds...if morgan produces for once actually and so doesnt our draft pick we could always move wimbley to olb for spoon if need be but if floyd or some solid defensive player falls i wouldnt mind it if we took them based on solid player of one we are going to have to reach for or draft for need....look at the giants...they draft bpa and have 3 solid ends now...and arguably one of if not the best dline in football....

I agree with everyone that says we should take the best player available. However, If Peter Konz is truly a stud center how can we pass on that guy?

Looking back on last season, our offense was decent without any sort of running game. Imagine what it would be like if we had a strong center along with Hutchinson, Roos, and Stewart. I think our offense could put big points on the board and control the clock making it much easier on our defense.

No he needs to find a new occupation because getting to the QB is not working.

I would love to see Poe, Perry, or Cox there he is my favorite DT after Poe and just ahead of Still.

If we go DT or some other position than DE round 1 hopefully Curry falls due to his measurables cause I would love his production round 2.

Cover up man, why would we come out and say yes we will draft an offensive lineman in the 1st round. He's prideful because he's a former offensive lineman. If DeCastro is there we will take him or at least take a second look at him. Doubt he'll be there though.

    This is amusing...

Many posts says this...we should take best player available as long as it's not an OG or CB. And since DE is our biggest need, we should take the best one.

    But don't reach...

You can't have your cake, eat it, have someone else clean up and have some servants carry you to the couch.

You can't take best player available blindly cuz what if it's a qb? None of you would argue taking tannehil if he was bpa would you? Conversely, we don't want to reach due to need and miss out on other good players.

And by the way, the giants don't have a bunch of pass rushing de's because they took bpa, they draft to have an abundance of de's in case they can't keep one or two or they lose some due to injury.

So let's simplify this for arguments sake. Here are your choices and tell me what you think.

Bpa from best to worse for arguments sake.
OG Decastro - should be a beast. Instant starter and upgrade.
CB Janoris Jenkins - one of the best cb's in the draft. Instant starter (nickel) /upgrade.
DT (insert your guy not name Poe) - could be a starter/upgrade but we have great depth.
WR Michael Floyd - if britt can stay healthy we're in good shape at wr. If not...
DE Perry/Mercilus/etc. - by far our biggest need, but do we pass on the above talent and get a Jamal Anderson/Gholston like player???

You can't really vote for bpa and say it should be any de because most likely, there will be several players ranked ahead of the de's available.

So who do you take and why?

    Gut

Ps - don't argue that DT should be rated higher than cb or what have you. The point is that at least one non-de player will be ranked higher and whether you take that player or the de is the question.

Well that all depends on where the FO rates these guys. The talking heads are always going to rate players and often times they miss. Who thought Roos was a good pick in the second round? Who even heard of the guy?

I agree with your post though. No reason to draft BPA if it does not fill a need. I got an "it sucks" earlier for it, but I am right. If the BPA is a linebacker, chances are he does not see the field for another year or two. I think the same may go for corner, maybe at the nickel, but I think we have enough depth to get by.
