I have to take issue with this. The next step in Locker's development is playing quarterback for the Titans. If Manning is signed, Locker won't be doing that for at least a few years. Sitting on the bench can only take you so far. It also probably won't help that Manning is known for wanting to take all the reps in practice.

I'm on board with signing Manning, but let's not pretend that it will be a good thing for Locker. The chance to learn behind Manning might have value, but it won't be close to the same as actually getting on the field. Locker's development will be stalled indefinitely.

Anyone who thinks Manning would play more than 2 years for the Titans is senile. Locker won't sit more than a total of 3 years (which is the same amount Aaron Rodgers sat... stop crying).

Those that are opposed to Manning being here need only to remind themselves that if he isn't as healthy as they suggest, then Locker starts anyway.

Either Locker gets to sit behind and learn from Peyton Manning, or he gets to start when/if Manning gets injured.

This is really a win/win for Locker.

You know what, we have no Super Bowl wins so we should be doing ANYTHING at this point.

There are only 6 franchise QB's you sell out for, and we have 1 of them in our building.

How can you not be pumped about this???

Look, I know I'm in the minority here and I have no problem with that. But let's be honest, this team had no interest in Manning until Bud wanted him, and what Bud wants Bud gets(that's what chaps me the most).

Next year we can sabotage Colin McCarthy by signing Ray Lewis.

If you can't beat them, hire them!

^ Good for Bud then. He owns the team and wants us to sign a first ballot Hof QB 'cause he wants to win a super bowl now.

    Good for you, Bud.

Where are you getting this idea? I would be stunned if Manning signs only a 2-year deal.

If Manning is here for 3 or more years, that means Locker's rookie deal will have expired and no one will know how good he can be. He will surely sign with another team. He's not going to re-sign with the team that drafted him and never used him.

Frankly, I would expect Locker to demand a trade way before his rookie deal actually expires. No top ten pick is going to be willing to just sit on the sidelines. Maybe for another year and maybe for two years, but not longer than that.
