Ok my apologies for calling Childress a liar his taste in film(Pulp fiction) is fine with me.

Jim Harbaugh played for the same nfl coach that Jeff fisher did, Mike Ditka. The Harbaugh's father coached for 7 seasons as an assistant to Bo Schembechler! Bo Schembechler! Talk about 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Jim Harbaugh played for Schembechler at Michigan!

Anybody who holds this view that he or his brother are some new age type coaches who like to light the air with footballs is ignorant.

They believe in fundamental football. Running the ball! Just like Jeff fisher!

Even with Andrew Luck at QB Harbaugh's Stanford teams ran the ball 200 times more than they threw it! Remember when Gebhardt had almost 2000 yards in 09?

The 49ers are in the top 3 in the nfl in rushing attempts and the bottom 3 in pass attempts. That is not an accident.

This style of football is not obsolete and the Harbaugh brothers are proof of that. How else can somebody beat teams like the Pats, Saints or Packers? Are you going to out score them? You have to keep the ball out the Qbs hands.

Sure, but they also believe in a tough aggressive defense, unlike Jeff Fisher (since Gregg Williams anyways).

Shortbus misses the point again, but very douchesque of you to use the "case closed" I win the internetz short-man syndrome closing.

Fisher couldn't handle Billy Volek, who has absolutely no other history of having problems with authority.

Fisher chose Kerry Collins as a mentor and to start for a few seasons before VY was ready.

Maybe if Fisher wasn't so incompetent he would've made a better choice in stop-gap QB, or not ran Volek out of town, and we as fans would've avoided all the needless VY/Fisher drama over the last several years.

    One word..... Yes

I for one got sick and tired of his philosophy of always playing the odds, and winning it with a field goal in the 4th quarter. Yes, it got him a lot of 8-8 seasons, but never winning a championship.

Good God man. Fisher was already coaching in Philly when Harbaugh was drafted. Fisher's major influence was Buddy Ryan, who Fisher followed to Philly.

If you want to clamor about how they use similar strategies and gameplans, fine, but that's where the similarity ends. If Harbaugh's strategy starts losing him games and he refuses to change, then lets compare him to Fisher. When Harbaugh starts keeping declining veterans in the lineup over young talent that can help them win, then lets compare him to Fisher. Fisher had success with Fisherball too. It was his inability to change when Fisherball didn't work that coined it 'Fisherball'.

17 years. 17 frickin' years wasted on that choad with a mustache. No rings. I can't fathom how some can defend him. He got more than his fair shot to get it done. Bud Adams must be one of the most patient men in the world. One foot in the grave and he still held on to that loser for 17 years to see if he could get it done.

Where do you get off talking about Jeff fisher like he was some perpetual 2-14 coach?

Last year you probably thought Rahim Morris was the standard for all coaches or Steve Spagnuolo. a year before that you probably thought Josh Mcdaniels was a genius coach. Fisher's record blows them away.

I know facts don't matter right? Like when fisher had backup trash starting at QB for 88 out of 112 games and won more than half his games anyway?

When has McCarthy or Payton have to coach with Qbs like that?

Then go kill yourself then because in the 45 year history of the super bowl this franchise never won with any coach! So why even have a team then?

What percentage of head coaches in the national football league have never won a super bowl? 95%? What percentage of coaches in the league this year have a ring as head coach? 12%.

Another tool that can't enjoy watch nfl football. If not winning a title is a wasted season then stop being a fan because every f**king year 31 of 32 teams don't win it.

In which year did we have an 8-8 team did you think we should have won the super bowl? Be specific.

How do you win titles without an elite QB? Was Fisher supposed to win a title with backup caliber QBs?

^^^^Fisher didn't even have to win a title for me to consider his years a success but he should have at least won some damn playoff games. 17 years and 5 playoff wins is crap and there is no way around that. Its especially crap when you consider the fact that 3 of them came from the MSM.

If you blame fisher's seemingly countless average seasons on talent then he should have done a better job scouting.
