Yeah, 20th is no good. We're the only 9-7 team not in the playoffs, as well as a team at 8-8 that we beat gets in. Awesome.

I'd like to go WR in rounds 1 or 2. It's SO deep in this class you could probably get a 1st round talent in the 2nd. I would like to get a stud center and o guard to replace Scott and the awful Amano. Also need D-line help. I really like Devon Still from Penn St.

Here are a few players we might have a shot at (some in later rounds) that I like. I haven't gotten to look at safeties but I realize it is a thin class at that position. I also think we will be more active in FA than some would think. If we can get a veteran guard, center, or WR that would really eliminate some need in the draft.

    - Devon Still
    - Kendall Wright/Nick Toon
    - Ben Jones - C - Georgia
    - Malik Jackson - DE/DT Tennessee
    - Jeff Demps - RB - FL

Not a very promising group there. Javon Walker and Adam Archuleta are the only two I recognize that panned out to be somewhat good.

What that list really screams out is don't draft a DT at 20.

I bet if you put together a list of players selected at the pick we got McCarthy at last year you'd have an awful group but that doesn't change the fact we got a lights out MLB at that pick.

Strong D's are built up the middle, strong interior Dlinemen, MLb's, and safety's. Safety is a HUGE need, on the O side we need interior linemen center and guards.

He's wrong. He's looking at the Strength Of Schedule (SOS) the wrong way round. In the draft it's the weaker SOS that determines who picks before whom. From NFL.com:

    13. Cardinals 8-8 .469
    14. Cowboys 8-8 .473
    15. Eagles 8-8 .488
    16. Jets 8-8 .500
    17. Bengals from Raiders 8-8 .504
    18. Chargers 8-8 .516
    19. Bears 8-8 .527
    20. Titans 9-7 .461

So had we been 8-8, our .461 SOS (which may have been slightly higher since Houston would have a better record) would put us at the 13th pick.
