Texans coach Gary Kubiak talked all week about playing to win this week against the Titans.

His actions on Sunday morning indicate a different approach.

The Texans declared Arian Foster, Owen Daniels, and Johnathan Joseph among others inactive for Sunday’s game against Tennessee. None of the above have serious injuries.

This is disastrous news for the Jets, who will be eliminated if the Titans win against Houston. Of course, they have no one to blame but themselves for this predicament.

Texans receiver Andre Johnson is active for Houston. They want him to get some work in before the playoffs after missing time with a hamstring injury.

Ultimately, it’s a savvy move by Houston. The Jets could be the toughest matchup for the team next week and this will help to eliminate the Jets.

Kubiak also doesn’t have to give anything away in case Houston has a rematch with Tennessee next week.

    Told you guys all along.

Would have been stupid to play there starters and play to win in a game that means nothing and would reveal their gameplan...

they'll have a basic gameplan and hope they get to see us next week..

You guys need to start trusting me. I told you Kubiak would go very conservative. Yates will not throw more than 20 passes and they will all be very short. Kubiak isnt taking any chances.

After this game... I don't think the Titans are better than the Texans. We will find out for sure if they meet again next week, I hope they do!

Our back ups kept it competitive the entire game. If we meet next week, be prepared to see a totally different Texans team that is at home and very, very hungry.

In your place I would have written it like this

Congrats on the win - Our back ups kept it competitive the entire game. If we meet next week, be prepared to see a totally different Texans team that is at home and very, very hungry.

They did not have Foster, AJ (that was not playing today...that was warming up) and a bunch do others.

Heck...we struggled against a team that had Delhomme I the game. We made some new TE look like a probowler.....I am not sure Wade Phillips flipped a page in his Defensive playbook today.

He will bring looks that our coaches will say "they were not expecting, or had not seen before" and our linebackers better figure out how not to get trapped in the wrong gaps or Foster and Tate will run for 300 on us. How their LBs were constantly in our backfield today....maybe the 3-4 D I don't know.

IF we play them again....Gonna be a different team on the field.

Be prepared for a totally different Titan team as well.

If they meet the Texans may very well win. But lets not go crazy that the Texans are far and away the better team.

Munchak and Palmer were conservative today as well. The Texans Oline is awesome, make no mistake. Thats the biggest difference in the game. The Texans still cant score. Late turnover helped get the Texans off the typical 16 PPG since Schaubs exit, but late turnovers in that situation just dont happen that often.

    Good Luck

The Titans didnt struggle against this Texans team. 400 yards of offense isnt struggling. Once again it is the OLine and play calling by Palmer. But they didnt struggle. 23 and 400 yards isnt stuggling. The Texans played their 1st team defense most of the game.

They are probably the better team, but it isnt by much. Yates may have played worse than Delhomme. We just dont know.
