Really, evaluating CJ without taking into account the awfulness of the Oline is useless. No one his size can run through a Dline of 300 pounders. Every once in a while a hole is opened, but it closes almost as quickly as it because they aren't big enough/good enough to keep it open, even for a split second. CJ is not a super hero. jmo

Nobody ever thought or said CJ is a smart person lol. He can run the ball very well when he has blocking. When he has one of the worst blocking lines in NFL history and he's a small back he's not going to produce often.

He's his own worst enemy and did most of it to himself though so I don't feel bad for him. He needs to find a way to produce and work even harder than he has in the past month where Munchak has said it's the hardest he's ever worked. He's not good enough to do it on his own which is fine because most RB's aren't, but he got a big head after having one of the best 3 year stretches to start a running backs career and needs to find a way to play better.

The unfair thing is people are saying he sucks and is awful which is fine, but I've seen many say "I would be fine with how he's playing if he hadn't talked so much and been a douche in the offseason", because they realize how big of a disaster the o-line is and there are only a few who could look even decent on our team, which all happen to be much larger backs. So that means they realize that the o-line is the biggest issue but they will call out CJ more and say he sucks just because he's a douche off the field.

I just think we all agree that ANYONE who can break a tackle would do better than CJ right now. CJ is great, on MADDEN or in SPACE, but this is the NFL and NFL defenses aren't going to allow CJ space anymore. It is what it is, he's a scatback.....without any scat:(

During the game yesterday some of the d-lineman were in the backfield right as CJ was getting the ball. I don't care if you're CJ, Emmit, or Barry Sanders if you don't have blocking you can't run the ball.

That being said, CJ is hesitating way too much waiting for something to open up instead of running straight ahead and taking what's there. There have been times where a hole has opened up but he either didn't use the burst of speed that he has or he just didn't see the hole.

Either way, I'd say both the line and CJ share part of the blame.

First, I hate hearing about what is fair or unfair. I hate it... I don't deal in fairness. I deal in justice but there is no room for justice for something as meaningless as football. otherwise... you are spot on. (entire post)
