We are from a small town called havelock on the east coast of NC. Most ppl know it because of the marine base cherry point that is here. The best thing we have is a Wal mart.

BOOO to all the Nashville Zoo hate.. I've been to most of the major US zoos and ours is damn good considering. Plus it won't get a chance to improve if people go around saying it sucks..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's absolutely abysmal or anything. But of the 3 zoos I've been too it's hands down the worst (admittedly I don't have a huge frame of reference). If the guy were here for a week I'd say sure, go to the zoo. But if he's just here for a weekend I think there are better things he could do with his time.

But like the guy said, his wife is a zoology major so I'm sure they'll have a good time. Or at least she will.

Cruds I heard you are the person to talk to. We are trying to find something to go to on Friday night. Is Ryman worth it? I thought about going to that and then going to dinner. We both like country music but didn't wanna spend money if it isn't worth it.

And is the opryland mall open? I heard when it got flooded they might not open back up. We were gonna go Saturday afternoon/night depending if we go to the zoo. And what is the best place over there to eat? We are open to all kinds of food.

Sorry for all the questions just have been working everyday for the last month(except for Sundays) so we could go. So I want it to be worth it

OK, since you all like Country Music, I will answer this...

When I come into town, my absolute favorite thing to do is to hit the Live Music bars on Broadway between 2nd and 3rd Streets (Legends Corner, Tootsies, just to name a couple, but there are several). These places have live shows going on all afternoon and evenings (usually 2-3 hour sets, then new musicians). Nobody famous, just folks playing to get discovered. They will pass around a tip jar during the shows, which, outside of beer, is your only expense.

One bad thing is that, after doing this, you will never be able to watch a live band playing covers in another bar (in other cities) again. The difference in musical talent seen between Nashville and other cities is absolutely striking, and you will be spoiled for life.

    Just my recommendation.

Question about that. She is only 20, so is it only 21 and older or 18 and older

I am an old guy, so this has never come up for me, but....

I do not think that there is an age requirement to enter the places, only to drink....that said, if anyone living there knows something different, I would defer to them.

Opry at The Ryman is a one-of-a-kind deal and is a no-brainer if you are a Country Music fan.
Just bring a cushion. The seats in that place will kill your azz.

My top recommendation would be my friends Hillbilly Casino, 11pm at Laylas.. Real deal Rockabilly band featuring ex/current members of Brian Setzer and BR549..

Cheese's recommendations are as good as any beyond that - I don't really do Country, but underground Rock.

Where is the best place for titans gear? The fiancé has a CJ jersey but is no longer a fan of him and doesn't wanna wear it. We were gonna wait until Sunday and go to the pro shop at LP but wasn't sure if there is a better place we could go before then.
