Hasn't this team for years prided itself on being one of the best in the league as far as the offensive and even defensive line. Our mantra was that games were won and lost in the trenches. If its true then how do we end up so shabby? Better think real quick on who had a lot to do with those lines looking good.Say what you will about him but I think Jeff Fisher did have a lot to do with that in his time here as head coach.Fisher usually had both sides of the ball solid as a rock.If you ask most people will say its too early for alarm bells but i disagree.

Not meaning to sound alarmed but i think Munchak is in over his head.Good man to coach the offense but that is where he should've stayed and its where his bread is buttered.I think its getting away from him or already has. This team usually has one or two weak spots but it looks like we are leaking everywhere.Lots of holes if you ask me.This talk of a division title is a mirage because we have a lot of problems.Muncak says everything will take care of itself and that my friend is a very bad thing to say at this point because its not gonna just work itself out its gonna get really bad if its not fixed.

Until the team improves, or at least some changes are made, I'm referring to him as buttmuch.

Right now our run blocking sucks. Because of the penetration I'm assuming we need to make some personnel changes. If blocks were being missed it would be one thing, but we're not sealing off defenders at the point of attack. We need an overhaul.

To be honest, I think our pass blocking stats are a better reflection of Hasselbeck than the O-Line. He's just had great pocket presence and has moved with the flow of the protection. I think Vince would of hurt us at this point (few more sacks/fumbles) looking back. I'm glad we picked up Hasselbeck but now our run game is hurting.

On defense I think we just need to be more aggressive. We need to blitz more. It's as simple as that. Our D-Line is not going to be able to get all of the pressure on its own consistently (how many D-Lines actually do?). We need to blitz more to get pressure and trust our DB's to make plays. Verner, Finny, and McCourty can play press man on most receivers and Griffin and Babineux can play safety over top. We can bracket team's TE's. We'd be able to blitz 2 linebackers and have our best coverage LB on the TE1. We'd be able to cover all of the top 4 receivers with good man coverage players who'd have help over the top.

I dunno, I'm dissappointed but not upset over where we're at. I was one of the people who thought we'd be really good this year back when it was still the VY/Fisher debate. I thought we gained some by dropping Fisher, but also felt like we lost some by dumping VY. I'm pleased so far to see the potential this team has but regardless of great coaching, this isn't a Super Bowl team this year IMO. For me, the exciting thing is knowing we're only a few pieces away. If Britt stayed healthy we'd have a much better shot, but I don't know if we have the depth yet to stay competitive. I think it says more to the youth of our new system than the quality of our guys. Besides some o-lineman, I think we've got good talent. We just need to settle into a system and draft/acquire guys accordingly to have true depth to where an injury or resting a starter won't plague the team.

Everybody is all doom and gloom after these few losses but in the off-season everybody thought we were gonna suck. Now people want a Super Bowl. I don't get Titans fans sometimes.

As far as Munchak being in over his head, I think he's a new coach who is going to have some growing pains. If we can be competitive late in the season and improve upon our schemes I think we'll be headed in the right direction next year.

Blame MR if major changes are not made to our lineup in the O-line. That means he hasn't drafted anybody as good as the guys we have. MR drafted Harris in the 4th rd of his first draft and has made little commitment to the O-line since.

He signed Amano to a long term deal when he might have signed somebody better instead.

Otto was a 7th rd pick and Velasco and Matthews were not drafted. It's not like we have studs in waiting to play.

2 of our starting linemen are more pass protection oriented Roos and Scott. A 292 pounder Scott is hardly a Benji Olson type run blocker.

The 2010 draft was our opportunity to get a stud inside guy. Pouncey and Lupati have both been outstanding with their teams.

It is hard to run the ball with zone blocking. Denver, Atlanta, Houston, and Washington all run the ball with the old knees and nuts theory. That is why some call them dirty. They pull the guards and drive people off the football not block a zone.

Velasco may not have been drafted but he is better that harris or Amano and to me scott very week there. I have not been impressed with shaun smith on the d-line either. I wanted greg williams and the old blitzing titans defense with akeem ayers bringing pressure. The last 2 weeks it has been more of the mush rush zone of old!

Wonder if maybe after the season they would try and get Greg Williams back in here to help our defense?

Have heard some good analysis about the team. Dig some of your perspectives. I'm hoping that the blitzing will improve and we will take this season and off-season to figure out our O-Line problems. I feel there's always D-Tackles available if you have the money, but we've gotta help our guys up front with the blitz.
