Anyone who knows anything about football knows nobody can be successful behind our line.

Eugene Amano is just too stupid to play center. All he does is identify the MLB, wow amazing LOL.

Lots of people on this forum think otherwise.

Love how the CJ-backers always fall back on the "I know more about football" company line. Look, everybody knows our O-line sucks. I don't think anyone here is trying to deny that. But it's a stretch to say "nobody" could be successful behind our line. And it all depends on your definition of "successful".

Is anybody rushing for 1600 yards behind this line? No. But there's no doubt in mind there are numerous backs who could be more successful than CJ behind our line. Any back who can break tackles and move the pile would automatically be more successful. Those 4,5,6 yard chunks would add up quick.

This is correct, a big back would be better, which brings it back to the stupid front office. They know CJ is a small back that needs gaps but doesn't do anything to improve the line, even though they know the line has been getting worse every year for since 2008. If you sign him to a big contract like this and do nothing with the line, you're throwing away money.

That's cool. When a RB has any sort of consistent success running behind this group of linemen, serve me my crow and I'll happily eat it. All I see is LB hitting our RB in the backfield. All the time. Our interior line is a joke. The C is the anchor of an offensive line. Extremely important on both passing and running plays. Eugene Amano is our center. He's one of the worst linemen in the league.

Anyone thinking "no one can be successful behind this line" needs to watch 2 guys specifically: Javid Best and Lesean McCoy.

Both are playing behind worse lines than we have.

Both are doing fairly well, I'd say.

Let's not put all the blame on the O-line. I completely agree with you first thoughts..about physicality. But CJ is to blame here as well. He's lost something...whether it be a step or the balls to approach the line at more than a quickened jog.

The holes aren't there like they used to be...the year CJ got his record, holes were all over the place and huge...he was extremely lucky to have that good of blocking. You can't expect to have those types of whole every game or even every year. Sometimes I think fans (no one in particular as I am talking about other sports as well) forget that their team also plays against professionals. The holes may not be as big as they should be and we are having linemen blown up too often and hitting our backs in the backfield...but when he doesn't get hit behind the line..all he does is 'show patience' and go no where.

Ringer found some holes. You can attribute that to him not seeing stacked fronts, but hey it got us yards. If we have to put Ringer in there to keep them from stacking the line so we can get some yards on the ground then the coaching staff is useless if they don't use Ringer more often.

IMO, bottom line, O-line is terrible, CJ is past his prime...the O-line can sustain some small holes but CJ can't take advantage of that. You have to work with what you get and from what I've seen Ringer works better with this O-line.

    ps Welcome back!

Agree 100%. I really expect more from this coaching staff/front office. I know it's been said a million times... but if only stupid stupid Fisher would've held onto Blount. We could've had Blount do the bruising and get the tough yards. Then CJ comes in and gashes the beat up, tired defense.

I know talking about Blount is crying over spilled milk, but we need to find someone like that to take some of the pressure off of CJ. Maybe Harper is that guy. Maybe he isn't. We'll never know until we try.

You keep saying things like this after stats prove otherwise which makes me think you have down syndrome. They have mediocre to bad lines yes, but they are much better off than the Titans and they both have great passing attacks with amazing WR's, and Vick gets a spy all game.

Maybe that stat that showed that CJ averages 120 YPG with VY and 75 without VY (just any mobile quarterback will do) is actually a big part of the problem as wlel.
