Ringer: If things aren’t working right up front, nothing is going to work right

lol I assume you are prepared to show us the holes you think CJ is missing. Maybe you aren't watching the games. Maybe coach Munchak, Chris Johnson, Ahmard Hall, Javon Ringer, and Jake Scott might be in a better position to judge waht's wrong than you are. All them are very clear that they don't believe CJ is the problem. Maybe, you don't understand how the running game works. You can't possibly watch the Titans games this season with a good football mind, and say that CJ is what's wrong.

CJ is a HUGE part of what's wrong. Y.E.S. Just deal with it already. Of course his coach and teammates aren't going to call him out publicly. Particularly 2 months after the franchise made a huge commitment to him by giving him a mega-deal. Come on guys. Use your noggins every once in awhile.

 

Actually, I'm going to go ahead an bow out of this useless conversation but feel free to say your piece Kaeotik.

CJ is sucking, big time. The O-line is sucking, big time. And we're all frustrated.

 

Blame for Titans running woes.

I put them first because they are routinely blown up at the snap. That's a physical issue more than anything else. On the players more so than the coaches imo.

I just can't accurately judge whether CJ is struggling or not until I see him getting holes to run through on an at least somewhat consistent basis. If you think those holes are there, then i don't even know what to say other than Tivo the games and pause the game when CJ takes his first step after the handoff like I do. There's nowhere to go 90% of the time! I think you'd be shocked at how horribly our interior O-line is blocking on run plays.

 

Interesting idea. I'll keep watching to see if bears merit.

I do think CJ has lost a step. I saw a few plays where the end was sealed and he couldn't/didn't outrun the OLB like he used to. So I'd put 80% of the fault on our line and 20% on CJ for losing a step and being too tenative. CJ IS trying- I agree whole-heartedly. I didn't see him take plays off and quit on plays the way I saw the interior line.

 

There's something we can all agree on.

 

He can't make the third guy miss.......

 

Also people say, it's the same bad blocking as last year. Yes it's ranking went from 31st to 32nd, so the ranking is similiar, but that distance between the 31st team this year and us, as a 32nd ranked team is like the difference between a high school team and an NFL team. Our adjusted line yards are worse than any team in the past 15 years, when last year it was bad but at least comparable to a few teams every year.

 

I love how some of you think Jamie Harper is like a bulldozer that just demolishes everything in his path. No defense will be able to hold him, he's unstoppable!

In reality, he's slow as molassas, and the highlight of his career will probably be a few goal line carries here an there.

 

Harper is not running anyone over, but he will run behind his pads and bring his weight with him to fall forwards always getting 3-4 yards. We could really use that.
