It's odd. I think of it as a family place. Of course you have the zoo, good parks, etc.

I think it's mostly a middle-aged place. If you're in that age range you could probably find enough to keep you social- or if you fit the "good ol' boy" mold.

Wow this is one of the dumbest statements I've ever read on this site, and one of the more gay too. You really need to get out more. Go by Elm Hill Marina or Anchor High one weekend lol. (although it's too late this year, I mean from warm spring through early september)

Have you really lived here basically your whole life and you've never seen the lake activity on Old Hickory or Percy Priest or any of the million dollar lake homes out here?

Nope. I can't help but associate lakes with drunken hillbillies and the unbathed.

Actually, that song of Alan Jackson's comes to mind... something about a Chattahoochie?

Lake homes are always nice. The people on the lake, however?

Your ignorance is showing. I guess you don't realize the tens of thousands of boaters that exist in middle tennessee. I wonder, do you even realize you can boat from Nashville to the gulf of mexico?

And you don't like looking at women in bikinis.

Im pretty sure the last time I went to Percy Priest I got aids. That water is dirty. Those cliff jumps there helped make me into a man, though.

Again...Nashville has the best Music Scene in the country...non-country. Why do alot of artists move here? Because we also have some of the best session musicians and studios in the world. If you can't find anything to do, then you have a problem, not the city. As far as lakes and rivers go, there are "rednecks" on any given body of water in the country, not just Nashville. There are also decent size yachts/luxury houseboats on the lakes as well.

Explain why all the big tours (not country) skip right over Nashville then?...

They don't think they'll sell tickets. Always been a problem here. If you're not a major pop group or a country band- you'll struggle to sell-out a small venue. Unfortunate because every band I'm ever in to I have to travel to Atlanta to see. (how great is their music scene??)
The only 2 good music events we had here stopped suddenly because they weren't country so the city didn't want to pay for it. (Dancin' In The District and River Stages)

Artists move here probably due to the lifestyle. It's laid back (boring)... no hassles. No media. No being stormed by the paparazzi, etc. Though on a grand scale- few artists outside of country live here.

Still waiting for these things to do rather than Nashville loyalists just telling me I'm wrong because THEY like the city.

It's very pedestrian here. Which is fine. Doesn't suit ME. Too slow of a city. But a lot of people like that.

It's practically Huntsville with a few bars with live music downtown.

Honestly... look at eventfull.com at Nashville during most weeks. It's depressing.
