or what if they are LSU and they still get to play for the championship even though they lose to 2 SEC doormat teams like UK and Arkansas (At the time) like they did back in 2007-2008 then they still get to play a home game for the national championship?

That is somehow fair according to your logic?

Absolutely. For other teams to have valid complaints then they shouldn't have lost resulting in LSU not in the title game.

As long as other teams in major conferences have the same or more losses, then yes.

IMO the BCS methodology would be fine for picking the top 4 teams. It really doesn't mater if you picked 4, 8, or 64 there would always be teams thinking they got screwed out of the playoffs. Your argument is ridiculous since I could easily say "what if 1,2, 3 and 4 are undefeated". Or just 1,2 and 3. I'd much rather let a one loss team or two in the 4 team playoff than risk leaving an undefeated team out. If one of those undefeated teams in your scenario is worthy they can prove it on the field. There have been a number of undefeated team that got royally screwed.

Besides, these teams all play many different opponents over the season. Some have weaker or stronger schedules. A team with one loss may have had a rougher path than the team with no losses. So I can't see letting one loss neccesarily discount a team from a shot. If they are worthy of being in the top 4 based on the BCS rankings so be it. If the one loss drops them out of the top 4, which it could very well do, then so be it. Who are we to judge. let the system work. Right now the system sucks. Having it pick the top 4 might be a way it can work.

You'll change your tune as soon as your team finished 5th in the final BCS with the same record as the 4th team.

The only way to improve on the BCS imo (which I seem to repeat annually on this forum) is to fix the scheduling and conference issues THEN (and only then) go to a playoff.

Every conference should have a championship game and to make the playoffs you should be involved in that game. Cause it's dumb to have teams that play 12 game seasons versus 13 game seasons.

Then there should be an out of conference scheduling deal similar to what the NFL does with their divisions. That at least would at least provide balance.

8 super conference, 8 conference championship games, 8 winners advance to college playoffs. That would be a pretty nice win for college football, think of the added $ and importance for those conference championship games.

Until those issues are fixed, I'd rather not see college go to a playoff and I am satisfied that the BCS provides the most fair championship system over the convoluted college scheduling.

Of course Boise State/Utah fans don't want to hear this, they want to go undefeated playing cupcakes then whine about how they are the legit champ.

Wow hardcore college football fans are seriously terrified of messing with this broken system.

College football has become the most corrupt sport in America.

A money making machince powered by clueless fanatics who would rather see things remain the same when clearly they could be improved greatly.

The day is coming when these super conferences form and every school left out will sue the brains out of the NCAA and every major university involved.

All of this will get dragged in front of Congress and then maybe they will shut this pro sports monopoly hiding behind a label of amateurism down.

    Death to the BCS?

    Noooooooo

    Death to the NCAA! ;)

Alex is a blinded tool fan of the system. As long as it works in favor of your team everything is A-ok!
