Seems like the past couple seasons Houston has been the trendy pick but don't end up winning it.Colts are in a panic mode right now and Manning could seriously be done maybe for more than just awhile. The Jags aren't going anywhere this year......

If we get CJ to sign his contract and the commish doesn't come down to hard on Britt then i like our chances....

    Thoughts??

I like our chances even if Britt gets a suspension and CJ doesn't sign. Of course with those two I like the chances even more, but Cookie is going to be our difference maker on offense. He is going to create so much havoc for opposing defenses and everyone else's job on offense will become easier.

If we stay healthy and have Britt and CJ.

    9-7

If things start going wrong. 6-10 or worse.

I completely agree. I think if we can get back CJ and Britt, we will have a pretty explosive offense, and I think our D will be a lot better than what some people predict. I still look at the 1st 7 games of last year as an indication that our team has all the pieces to competitive.

With a injured and rusty Manning, the colts become 100% beatable, and even with a healthy Peyton, the colts just don't scare me as much as they used to.

I still don't see the Texans making it over the hump and into the playoffs. Everyone says that Matt Schaub is a top 10 QB, but I just don't see it. Sure he can put up stats, but the #1 job of a QB is to win games, and Schaub is just not a winner.

The Jags well ... they suck

I think we'll surprise some people if we can stay healthy. People are really looking past the Titans right now. This is a very similar team to the one that started out 5-2 last year. The players have more faith in the coaches and the coaches seem to be better prepared. Our defense will be much better and our offense can be better as well.

So yes, I think if Manning is seriously hurt, we could easily be in the running for the division. At this point, even if Manning isn't hurt through, I'd rank the Colts 2nd after the Texans.

My predictions (with Manning hurt for an extended period of time):
    Texans: 10-6
    Titans: 9-7
    Colts: 7-9
    Jags: 5-11

Having CJ and Britt early in the season is a huge IF....I'd put the odds that those two are playing in Weeks 1-2 at about 20:1

Well without CJ and Britt, the outlook could be a lot more bleak, although I think we could fair pretty well without them for the 1st couple of games. Our D should be strong IMO, and with a good showing from our offensive line and smart play with MH we should be fine. However, I don't think we would be able to sustain that success throughout the season without CJ and Britt.

As long as we can get those 2 back relatively quickly though, we should have enough explosiveness to be competitive for the long haul.

The thing with the jags are... they will always be there to contend... until espn starts talking about them being in the playoff picture....... then they lose their last 3 games....

10-6 wins this division... and that's the very best I could see us doing (unless Peyton somehow misses all the way up to our first game against the Colts on Oct. 30).

Our schedule is weird. We play a lot of very tough teams and a lot of very easy ones, at least on paper.

    Tough games:
    Colts
    Colts
    Steelers
    Ravens
    Falcons
    Saints
    Bucs

    Easy games:
    Jags
    Jags
    Broncos
    Browns
    Bengals
    Panthers
    Bills

I didn't include the Texans because they don't belong in either category. In order to win the division we basically have to go 4-2 in the AFC South, win all of those "easy" games, and win one or two of the "tough" games.
