CJ isn't beating them, he's a different back to them. They (Eddie and Earl) clearly were not pass catching backs.

This is exactly what I keep saying. "Trade him" "He's wanting Brady money" lol I want Brady money too. I'm not going to get it and neither is CJ. You'll find that CJ will take the best offer he has the first week of September. As the other guy said, he'll be there when it counts. A lot of you are gonna look silly for all this CJ bashing imo.

I am an Eddie fan, but I watched Earl in college and with the Oilers also...he is still the best IMO. Bum totally ran him into the ground, but when he was in his prime he was absolutely the most devastating running back I ever saw. In his prime, he could run over DLs and LBs, then outrun DBs. It was scary to watch. Unfortunately, his "prime" was really only between 2 and 3 years after he came into the NFL.

Disagree. Today's teams with "elite RBs" don't succeed. And by success I mean winning multiple playoff games. Who are the elite RBs in the league?

Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Arian Foster, Jamaal Charles, Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice (Ravens have a few Playoff wins)

But that's it. You need a RB corps that will SUFFICE. My football philosophy is that your backup RB is more important to your team's success than your starting RB. Look at the past recent SB champions... and look how much their RB corps contributed as a troop, not an individual.

Those other guys actually kept the offense on the field though.

CJ's stats are buttered by the worst teams in the league in garbage minutes as well.

Does anyone even remember how he got his famous 2k?.... By being lousy vs a god awful Rams team in a meaningless game... carrying the ball over and over and over until he finally inched his way to it. Was a joke.

Glad we finally have another poster that doesn't have his heart in to CJ and can use his mind to realize what's SMART rather than what helps them get off personally.

    Ask yourselves, CJ fans:

What huge game did CJ play in where he propelled the team to a win? Any?? How has he faired vs our good rivals? He vanishes the 2 times a year we play the Colts. He took himself out of our playoff game because he was scared they'd hurt him.

We'd be fine without the most overrated player in the league. Trust me.

Trade him now, because he wont be worth anything in 2 years.

You need more than just an elite RB but it helps if your QB isn't all that good.

To succeed, by your definition, you have to have an elite QB. Mark Sanchez isn't elite, but he has a good running game and defense so they succeed. Joe Flacco isn't elite, good running game and defense. Matt Ryan isn't elite (though he's getting there), good running game and defense. We don't have an elite QB, so we have to take some of the pressure off of him. In the NFL, it's one simple question: how far can our QB take us and what do we need to do to supplement his short comings. Teams like the Patriots and Colts can cycle their players because they have a great QB, a great offensive foundation. Teams without that QB simply have to be strong at running the ball and playing defense.

I don't understand Foster being named an elite RB. He had one year. He may turn out be one of the best over time in the NFL but not after 1 year.
