I'm cool with Locker or a veteran starting, but Rusty smith being any higher than third string is unacceptable to me. I would be scared to death on every snap that the starter would get hurt, and we'd have virtually no chance to win. Not a big rusty Smith guy.

In Rusty's defense he didn't really get a fair shot. With all that was going on, I can give him a pass because the whole team mailed it in at that point.

I think over time Rusty could be a gunslinger. I have zero problem with him as #3. Zero.

Without question I think Locker could start and play well.
I've always expressed starting Jake as my preference since I joined this forum.
Jake has meet the guys to work out at the player lead practices.
Players on the team already view him as a leader and the eventual QB.
He's also been working out with other Titans receivers outside of the mini-camp.
Jake is gonna have a head start over most QBs they can bring in.

I'm just discussing the possible options as per Munch's statements.

Definitely. Based on Coach Munchak's statement it's kinda hard to know who they have in mind. He says he wants a guy who can/will teach Locker but also someone who can also come in and help us win.

Hasselbeck sounds like the obvious choice but too hard to tell at this point. For all I know he could be talking about Bulger or Delhomme.

I think Locker's running/playmaking potential is at least on the same level as Vince.
Locker was a great runner in his own right.

True but Vince was like a gazelle coming out of college. His rookie year dude has lightning fast, Locker is fast and also a great runner but he's not as fast as Vince was when he first came out. Locker has him beat with the intangibles of hard work ethic and humility though.

There is no doubt he could be talking about Bulger or Delhomme.
Munch's recent talk about the QB being a guy that could play kinda excludes dudes like Delhomme imo b/ it seems like he cannot throw with velocity anymore.

Side note is that Delhomme has played in the Erdhardt-Perkins which system tree that Palmer runs.

Hasselbeck and McNabb are the best QBs out there but they won't come cheap and seem like they would be 2 year starters not 1 year or half a year.

Locker has running back vision, cut-back and juking ability. His freshmen year at U Dub he almost ran for 1,000 yards so he's no slouch himself.

Neither here nor there but I've never seen a timed 40 for Vince but I know Locker ran 4.43 (fast time) w/ an average of 4.5 official at the combine. I would put my money on Jake being faster not that it matters though.

I'm also thinking since Jake is versatile, he can succeed early. He's not only a pocket passer, which means like Vince you may have to use a guy to spy him. If Jake stays home and doesn't scramble, then we're at an advantage only facing 10 defenders.
