I love Hawk so much that it makes me hate on mariani.

But I hope this new coach gives Hawk some freaking playing time I just don't see why not same sh$$T with mariani give them a chance to show what they got at the WR position.

Of course you can't say why you love Hawkins so much so what is the point? I guess i could announce that that Johnny Orr was a hall of fame talent just misunderstood and oppressed by Jeff fisher but i would look like an idiot.

For Hawkins to play more that means somebody is on the bench who should be playing like Cook or Washington.

As for Mariani? He should have been a 4th rd pick based on his career at Montana and his timed speed and his versatility as a return man. I don't know if it is an anti small school anti white guy thing going on there but his timed speed was solid, 4.48, 6.83 cone and his numbers in 08 and 09 at Montana were better than Titus young's numbers at Boise St the last 2 years.

Mariani averaged 19 yards a catch in 08 and 18.5 yards a catch in 09. And he averaged 74 catches a year. He put up monster numbers and was only drafted because of Jeff fisher and his son. So why are we talking up some bench guy who can't get separation?

Hawkins has been nothing but a tease. He'll show up looking great in camp and a couple of preseason games only to play himself off the field because of his routes.

I hope it clicks this year for him because I think he has the talent.

Is Hawk simply not hungry to play? I mean he's going into his 4th season, and has only registered 19 catches. He's so irrelevant even Wikipedia stopped updating on him. We know he's fast enough, and has skills, so whats the story...

He is? He can't get separation on an NFL CB.

Hawkins is 5'11 190 and has 4.60 speed. What about that suggests he is some sort of beast? Yet people keep thinking that.

Neither can Gage, so what's it going to hurt to give him a shot?

Never in my post did I say he was a beast. You saying that makes me chuckle. Hawkins, a "beast"... LOL

Anyways, he actually runs a 4.5 40, but that hurts your case against him so I could see why you'd fiddle with that.

I know you saw that play he leaped over a Cardinal defender. Scrubs can't pull that off. He's got ability, but Fisher is a loser so he sits the better players.

Hawkins isn't a great player by any means, but when he has been on the field he has performed well.

Most of his catches he has made have been for first downs in moments we needed them most. If he could get his act together and learn the plays/routes he would be a solid slot WR for us. But at this point it is probably too late for him.

Nate was given a very generous contract, so with that comes expectations. He hasn't lived up to those expectations in my opinion. I wouldn't say he's got GOOD HANDS. He makes some incredible catches, then drops easy catches at the worst possible time (not that there is a good time to drop a pass). The Colts game in Indy comes to mind the most. For what Nate is getting paid, he should play like a number one receiver, and he just hasn't shown that yet. I'm hoping this year will be better for him.
