Probably will dominate the conference because the Big East blows.

New England almost never trades up. They always trade back, stockpile extra picks and somehow still end up getting the player they want. They have a ton of picks in this draft, but they are lacking in 2012 picks. I fully expect them to trade back like usual and obtain a bunch of 2012 picks.

Sadly I agree. They're the perfect trade partners. Patriots always make smart moves... like the Jared Cook deal or Armanti Edwards deal that landed them the 33rd pick.

How hard is this? Draft defense in rd one and then take the highest ranked QB on the board left in rd 2. Dalton has a similar skill set to Stanzi and Ponder but without the injury history that Ponder has and he is 2 inches shorter than Stanzi.

Just sit tight in the 2nd rd and a couple of guys they like will fall to us. Kiper has us taking Mallett in rd 2. If guys with comparable qualities as Dalton can be had in rd 2 then you don't give up the house just to get him.

I think if Fairley is there at 8 they take him, but I think if Locker or Gabbert is there too they take either of them before Fairley. They will take DL first and QB second or QB first DL second in the draft. They need LB bad too though.

I'm not sure it's nearly as easy as you make it out to be. As many as 5-6 QBs could get drafted in round 1 (or at least by the time the Titans pick in round 2).

If the Titans only give first or 2nd round grades to a couple of them and those guys are off the board by round 2, it's tough to then have to take a QB you don't really like and attempt to build your franchise around him. Getting only the 5th or 5th QB on your board is a huge downgrade from getting the 1st or 2nd guy.

I think it would be much more palatable to go QB in round 1 (and make sure you get a guy you really believe in) and then take the best defensive player (probably DE or DT but could be any defensive position) available in round 2. There will be many more options in round 2 that way, because the pick won't be limited to a single position.

It's hard to say who is the best player in this draft, but I hope the Titans stick to their plan as to who they are gonna take. If they have a QB rated higher than DL then take your guy. Don't get away from what you plan and they will be fine.

Begrudgingly I must admit the Patriots front office are absolutely one of the best in the league. Belicheck has a consistent and clear coaching style and the scouts are talented at identifying draft prospects that fit it. I think that allows the Pats to jockey around the draft never focusing on an individual player but rather a player "type" that will be work well in their system. That is why they consistently have productive players selected in the draft. The FO/HC/player interaction is consistent and supported. There is a reason that even egocentric guy like Randy Moss admitted he made a mistake leaving the Pats organization.

So I think the Pats target several players they believe will work well in their system and aren't too focused on need. They seem to take the BPA that will work best in their system.
