Add the lockout effect of reduced practice time. Critically important when implementing new schemes, coaching styles, etc.

How many times have we heard this before? People always sleep on us and u forget our team quit so we lost, not bcuz we werent good. Fisher tried to put players where they shouldnt of. When Cook stepped in he made plays, not Scaife. Fisher had alot of stubborn moves that made no sense and our D was bad bcuz we werent pressuring enough. Any defense is gunna suck if u only rush 4 each time. I think we'll be ok, i just think everyone is being jumpy bcuz of the labor situation. There could well be a chance to get a QB after the draft for sure. Look around the league, teams are gunna wanna trade, kolb, is one for sure.

What we needa do in the draft is grab BPA at 8 and draft a QB in the 2nd. Whether its def or off. Minnesota did it back for AP and look how they truned out. they didnt "need" a RB but a player thats ready to come in and start instantly is better then a need that will take 3 yrs over time for them to even see action and do good. Bcuz starting a need ( QB ) early will only land us back in the top 10. Peterson, Prince, Miller, Green, if there is a QB reach session im sure 1 of those 4 guys will fall to us and we should take one. We can get a QB in the 2nd round with as much production as any going inthe 1st round. I have never seen a QB class where NO ONE is NFL ready. There is no Bradfords in this class. And Newton will only be good as long a team lets him be him. Sorta like what we did to Vince. you force him to do something your limiting his production. Funny how they say "build" around your QB yet u build your QB around ur team.. Newton is the only one id take a 8 if i HAD to take a Qb.

It's way to early to predict this. The draft and free agency hasn't even happened yet.

I love how Chris Hope got his own bullett point :grrhee:. I'd rather just release him and start Fuller or a young guy.

I really hope our young guys step up: Cook, DWill, Verner, McRath, Derrick Morgan, Curran, and hopefully a SS (Schommer, Rolle, or Johnson). Britt needs to stay out of trouble. We need a rookie QB to come in and proove himself, ala Ryan or Bradford (probably won't happen though). I have faith our OL will fix itself, with Bruce and Munchak; they got to find a solution.

Part of the season we sucked was the VY drama, injuries, and our team seemed to just "give up" on Fisher.

I would agree with him. I think we are in the bottom three with the current roster. Just keepin it real. And I'm a homer.

I think it all hangs on the VY issue. I think with VY we can compete for the division. Without him, who knows. Since he's basing his assessment on VY being gone I can't say I disagree with him.

Even with VY we still have question mark at QB. The question just becomes "How many games can Young actually play?" After that this is how are lineup breaks down.

RB: CJ and Ringer - Johnson is good but even with him at record setting levels the Titans could only manage an 8-8 season.

WR: If Britt gets in trouble again he could face suspension (In fact, he may still). After that we have Washington, Gage, Williams We no Washington and Gage are not number one's, they may not even be number two's. Williams shown flashes but is still largely untested.

TE: The potential is there but unproven.

OL: We still have Harris - Amano - Scott who I believe may make up the worse interior OL in the league.

DL: Right now are starting DE's are Morgan (coming off an ACL tear) and (?). At DT we have Jones (Talented but injury prone and undersized) and Brown (His knee injuries have severely hurt his play). I know a lot of people want to take a DT at 8 but defensive tackles have one of the highest bust rates out of every position in the top ten. Neither Fairley or Darius are Suh level talents.

LB: We have McGrath and Witherspoon at OLB. McGrath can't cover worth crap and (as of now) only effective under the effects of PED's. Spoon turns 32 this season and will be slowing down some time in the future. Tulloch is a FA and cannot cover.

CB: The only posistion I think we are okay at.

S: Griffin is severely overrated. Chris Hope is Chris Hope, need I say more?

I don't think Young will have a magical effect on our season. I think we will lose to the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Colts, Saints, Falcons, and Bucs for sure. That's seven loses right there so we would have to sweep the Jags and Texans (easier said then done as both teams always play us tough) and hope Young isn't injured for the other games as we would be down to whatever rookie we draft and Rusty Smith.

I'm in support of keeping Young AND drafting a QB. That way we have a backup we can be grooming and a starter.

As far as RB goes, we're good with CJ. The good thing is he doesn't get injured easily. The RB position is one of the easiest positions to replace. The problem last year was that Fish got buddy buddy with Ringer and gave him the nod over Blount. If you go back, Blount was undrafted...tells you about the RB position.

I'm not concerned with our WR's. Even with Britt out of the lineup last year we had the #1 scoring offense and were putting up points. That also includes that "terrible" O-Line. The thing about VInce is that his mobility allows us to do some things that we wouldn't be able to with other QB's. Plus CJ can be used to hold the blitz if we have a good offensive coordinator in Palmer.

    Cook and Stevens are solid.

    So that's our offense.

As far as defense is concerned...

Our D-line isn't as bad as everybody thinks they are. They got worn down quickly last year and instead of adjusting our scheme, Cecil did nothing. All of our players were often found out of position. That's on the coaches.

Our linebackers are mediocre as a unit but they're far from bad. They should not, I repeat, should not be covering route running TE's alone on passing plays. Cecil should be slapped for that one. They should either be bracketing the TE's or we should have our SS helping in coverage (unless you have '10 Chris Hope as your safety).

Verner, Finny, and Griffin are good. They're good enough to not let offenses run wild on us. Are they shut down? No. But they can handle their responsibilities.

Hope...well...lets hope he's not starting this year. Love the guy, have a ton of respect for what he's done here, but it's time he takes a backup role. Hell, if he gets a ring I'm sure he won't be too upset.

IF we can get Fairley at 8 and a SS who can play right away I believe we're contenders. We're young and we've got some talent. If the coaches can improve upon last year (which can't be too hard) AND we keep Vince we're contenders.

And YES Vince can magically change things. He's done it the past 2 years.

The Panthers and Cardinals are worse than us. It's debatable with the rest of those teams.
