I've been going back and forth trying to decide which of the following scenarios would be the best direction to go in the draft.

    Scenario #1:

    - Even though Fairley is available at 8, we pick a QB, and have our choice of one of the following: Gabbert, Newton, Locker, Mallett.
    - At 39 we have our choice of some of the second tier DT's: Paea, Austin, Liuget

*This scenario means that none of the QB's listed that are available at 8 are available at 39.

    Scenario #2:

    - At 8, we go with Fairley and wait to draft a QB until round 2
    - Pick 39 we can choose beteween the second tier QB's: Ponder, Dalton, Stanzi, Kaepernick

The basic question is, out of the players that will more than likely be available, which scenario do you like better and why?

Option 3: We trade down, get some more picks, take a QB we can get at #8 later then stock up on defense.

But I rather take the QB we want in the 1st then take a DT/DE in the 2nd since that's the poll question.

I don't think it's safe to assume that Ponder, Dalton or Kaepernick will be available in round 2.

I'm ok with no QBs in the 2011 draft.

There will eventually be free agency this year. There will be a draft in 2012. There will be free agency in 2012.

Maybe we are better getting the QB from one of those avenues instead of this year's draft.

Scenario one. If you told me we would have the pick of the little from the QBs in the draft at 8 I don't think there is any choice to but to take him.

I also hate the listing of the second tier QBs. Dalton is the only one I think could amount to anything...

    option 4:

Keep Vince Young, the QB that won 30 games for us even with Fisher as his coach. Ride with a proven winner. Draft Fairley, and not have to worry about drafting a QB the rest of the draft.

Senario 1, but only if we are sold on one of the qb's.

More than likely he wont be there in the second and trying to trade back into the first is still risky and would probably cost to much. With the depth at DT this year, i think the better value would be to guarentee we get our QB and still pick up solid help at DT in the second.

That isn't an option because the organization doesn't want him.
Hypothetical trade down for Ponder or Locker is more realistic.

    When was this established???

I'm pretty sure Bud Adams still "wants" him..
