I went with Bowers, under the idea that he has a clean bill of health, as has been reported. He was in my opinion the best player in this draft, to get him at #8 would be an absolute steal as long as his knee will be 100%...if not, I'd vote for Fairley..

I love how people are so convinced that Newton can't be a good QB but say it's ok since he will go before 8 anyway. So the general managers of 3-4 nfl teams who have all these coaches and scouts and the opportunity to watch extensive film and to interview Newton personally are not as informed as a bunch of bozos on a website?

Not to say they can't make huge mistakes but there must be more to Cam Newton than what you guys say.

I have one thing to say to that; Cam Newton sucks.

This has me wondering if you know what you are talking about. Kevin Williams is a fast athletic DT who is a great pass rusher. Powe is a space eater type guy who is not athletic or fast.

Physically they have nothing in common. Williams is 3 1/2 inches taller and 25 lbs lighter.

Maybe you are confusing Kevin Williams with Pat Williams.

I've pretty much got it narrowed down to this:

    QB: Locker
    WR: Jones
    DL: Fairley/Bowers

Julio would probably be the best pick but it won't be very popular. Britt's future is up in the air with the latest news and besides him we don't really have anyone except a couple decent WR's. With Julio we would have an amazing 1-2 combo and we could draft a QB in the 2nd (Mallett please. his arm+our WR's=many TD's). Julio would also be a safety net in case Britt is done within the next couple years.

I'm warming up to Locker a lot and he's becoming my favorite in the class. He would be the pick if we did go QB in round 1. We need a new face of the franchise and with no free agency right now we're going to need someone.

On the DL Fairley or Bowers would work. I know they're one year wonders but both these guys were high recruited, I think Bowers was a 5* prospect so I really doubt it was some miracle he is in the top 10.

Safe pick right now would be DL but I want Locker or Julio.

Jones at 8 would be a TERRIBLE pick, I don't care if Britt is in trouble we have way bigger needs than WR. Worst case scenario we start Washing/Williams/Gage until Britt comes back (If suspended) best case scenario we pick up a receiver of free agency to take over if need be.

Alright but then let's say Britt gets in trouble again and he's done. What then? Those WR's you listed won't get the job done and I doubt we're going to spend money on a WR that can actually help out this team instead of just depth.

The worst case would be reaching for a QB.
