The draft is approaching us! I know we have had a couple threads like this... but alot has changed since then. Alot of prospects are moving up and down on the draft board. I figured I would make this thread, because my guess is most people have changed their opinion on who they want at #8, I know I have.

I figured we could house all generic discussion on the draft here also?

So the question remains... who do you want the Titans to draft with their #8 pick?

These poll results should be interesting!

    So, I'll start it off...

I want Von Miller. I know it's a stretch that he'll be available at #8, but I've seen crazier and it's very possible for him to be there. I just think he's the perfect fit for the Titans. Most people say he's not big enough, he's 6'3 245.. plenty big for 4-3 OLB. He's got good speed, average stength, seems to be very humble and smart, a great pass rusher, and his coverage is improving. I think he would be perfect for the Titans as the SAM backer. Pair him with Tulloch and a +10 LB McRath. If we use Von right, he could be a monster... him guarding TEs will be so much better than Tulloch guarding them. Hopefully, he'll still get some blitzes in our 4-3. Let McRath and Tulloch worry mostly about stopping the run, Von focus on getting to the QB or coverage.

Von is the impact player the Titans NEED on defense.

I picked Blaine Gabbert, well because I don't want VY back.

There is a 1% chance VY will be back, with our without Gabbert.

For my final pick I'm going with Cam Newton.

I think he is a phenomenal athlete who has the ability to be a franchise QB for years to come. Newton ran an offense in college that will translate easily to the pro level. He can read any defense and throw every pass necessary to be a pro quarterback.
All of the rumors about work ethic and attitude are completely false. Nobody could ever do the things he has been accused of.
What about his ego? Psssh all nonsense! There is nothing wrong with self love.
I can't wait until VY 2.0 is taking snaps next year.

Seriously though, I want Patrick Peterson. It won't happen.

Aldon Smith for me please. I want a DE if we don't trade out and I believe he's the best pass rusher in the draft. Too many medical issues with Quinn and Bowers.

I voted for Patrick Peterson, but I will be equally happy with Prince Amukamara. In any case, the best part about our position is that there are eight elite prospects in this draft, and with at least one team ahead of us sure to draft Cam Newton, we WILL get one of them.

I would like to see us end up with Phil Taylor out of Baylor in order to anchor our defensive line for years to come. I think that he will fit beautifully into our scheme if it similar to what Gray used in Buffalo. Taylor can essentially act as a 3-4 NT in our 4-3 by stuffing running lines, taking double teams, and not allowing the QB to step up into the pocket. I know it is a reach but I think a line line up of Jones|Taylor|Brown|Morgan would give use an elite Dline for years to come. (Plus I want us to try an grab Cofield if there is a short FA period after the courts rule on the injunction.)

    I agree with finnebosch

I would not mind trading back for a defense tackle like phil taylor
Von Miller is going to be a 3-4 rush linebacker
both top cb should be gone by 8 if not i would consider either
and all the top defensive lineman scare me as 1 year wonders
jason jones could easily be moved to DE which we drafted first last year

Trade back in the first Phil Taylor and pick up another second
Qb in the second Andy Dalton
than with our 2nd 2round pick Quan Sturdivant
I would be happy with that for the first 2 rounds
