Better question: why do people keep writing off Marks like he's done in two years? Most good DTs take several years to learn the pro game. It's just the nature of the position. He deserves another year, at least.

Throwing pick after pick at one position but never giving any one player time to develop=Jacksonville football. I don't want that in Nashville.

Yes, but in two years you atleast get a hint if the player will be anything or just a scrub. Sen'Derrick hasn't showed me anything yet.

My biggest problem with Marks is he is supposed to be more of a penetrator but he hasn't show that explosion. He isn't strong or big so he really doesn't have much going for him if he can't get up field like JJ and wreck havoc in the back field. He has had two years under a line coach who specializes in grooming guys like that and Marks simply hasn't responded. He might surprise if he can get stronger and improve his leverage but so far he hasn't shown anything.

Brown can still play at a fairly high level IMO if he is healthy. He obviously had a bad knee last year and it limited him. The fact he played as well as he did with the knee tells me if he is healthy he can still be effective. Early in the seaons he and JJ were pretty good. Of course it remains to be seen if he can get healthy. Best case scenario is to find another young DT with more strength and size to plug in next to JJ (assuming he stays at DT) and let Brown be the rotational guy. Haye is basically done and needs to be replaced so I see him being the odd man out. Marks might get another year to prove himself but is at best a backup. If the price is right I still would entertain the possibility of bringing AH back. We are looking for more size so he fits that role and if we can get him for a 3rd or 4th round pick (prefer a 4th) he gives us a guy who can contribute for a few years. Getting AH might also allow us to move JJ outside on early down if needed so it could help two spots.

Marks is a waste of time, dude couldn't even bench 225 til later in college. He doesn't know what it takes to be an NFL defensive lineman.

Last year was Tony Browns first year taking a step back. Up til then, he was making good progress.
