Locker 40 for 42(95%) on his passes. His two misses were over 50 yards.

Cam Newton was 50-60(83%)(largest sample size)

    Gabbert was 44-49(89%)

    Andy Dalton was 49-52(94%)

    Kaepernick was 36-38.(95%)(smallest sample size)

    Locker's Pro-Day

Watched Jake toss the ball today. Looked good. Only two incompletes, both 50 yd+ passes that were an inch or two beyond or just off the fingers of the receiver. The passes were good though (echoed by the analists) and catchable balls in a game scenario.

He did have 3 passes that weren't exactly on the mark, but were catchable (as they were caught).

Biggest thing pointed out was how solid his footwork and stance were consistantly. He nailed the two hardest routes. Brock Huard (while a former Husky, has no problem pointing out Locker's deficiencies) was extremely impressed, saying this was "...the best he had seen..." Jake throw consistantly. He noted to improvement in the footwork (Jake's "base") and the shoulder movement through the throw. The key thing about this is that these are the mechanics that Locker has been working on. Everyone has agreed that since the Senior Bowl, Jake has shown visible improvement in these areas. Because of that his throws have looked much better, and his accuracy has improved. So what Locker is proving, is that his "deficiencies" can be corrected or improved.

Jake mentioned something during the post-activity interview that caught my attention. He commented on how much he was enjoying this process, because he was able to focus on his fundamentals "as a thrower" rather than "as the quarterback role in a gameplan (or game scheme)". With the volatility of the Huskies program over the last 4 years, that knid of makes sense. Not using it as an excuse for his numbers, but it's something that I had never thought of before. There is a big difference in perfecting your "craft" and "defining your role" in a system. Just a thought...

i love how the experts think 4-5 QB's will go in the top 13 picks. that will never happen.

be lucky if 3 qb's are drafted in the 1st round. im not sure we go QB in the 1st now, we really need a play maker at LB.

3 QBs in the top 13 is very possible.....Gabbert and Newton in the top 5, and Locker to either us or Washington. I've got a feeling Locker is going to be our pick.
5 QBs won't go top 16, but I could see 5 in the first round....Especially if 3 go in the top 10...teams will trade back into the late first to make sure they get one.

People are saying that he looked good today, but that the throws he made were extremely easy.

I liked Locker a lot early on in this offseason, but I am souring on him lately. The low Wonderlic score didn't help. And I'm just not convinced he will ever be able to make the tough throws you need to make to win a Super Bowl.

Still, I prefer him to Gabbert and Newton.

I agree with this...his accuracy is concerning. I just believe his attitude is one that NFL coaches will fall in love with, much like they did Tebow, which is why I don't believe he'll fall past Washington. Shannahan is rumored to love him.
Billick was just on NFL Network and compared him to Kyle Boller as well. Said that they made excuses when they drafted Kyle Boller because of his accuracy issues in college. That they blamed it on his WRs. He said the same about Jake Locker, that people are making excuses for his accuracy.

Here's the thing, why didn't he make these changes before? If what everyone saying is true, that his accuracy has somehow improved in gym shorts, why wasn't he working on this stuff before? There is NO proof that he is better within the actual game. I just watched the whole pro day on ESPN3, most of those throws were very simple. I wouldn't have expected anything less. And, there's no point comparing the different pro day completion rates. It's useless, it means nothing.

Just thought it should be noted that the first people to talk with Locker after his pro day were the Titans. I saw Chris Palmer, Dowell Loggains, Ruston Webster, and Marvin Sunderland. They were laughing together, making jokes, looking very comfortable with each other. Almost as if they had met several times before...

That is a good comparison IMO...Locker has a good work ethic (evidenced by his hard work in improving mechanics while in shorts), but that still does not elevate him (or anyone else, as I have said for a long time now) as a top 10 pick in the draft. Boller has a good attitude and work ethic, but that did not translate to NFL success.

Maybe his personal life works out like Boller's (worse things in the world than being Mr. Carrie Prejean, I guess).
