As in NFL scouts. Where do you think amateurs like McShay/Kiper get their information? Those two wouldn't be able to put together a real draft board by themselves if their life depended on it.

    True.

Here's the problem though: I think Gabbert was expected to become a top QB Prospect but that's with the assumption that he would have improved greatly his next season playing college football.

Since he didn't play another year- I don't think he's done near enough to make anyone think he's a legit option for a first round pick.

IMO, Gabbert was completely miscast in that spread offense. His interviews have supposedly gone exceptionally well. I'm not worried about him understanding an NFL playbook.

I'm not sure about that. He just has a hard time hitting guys on short passes vs even the most depleted secondaries.

And he's been about as bad as it can get vs any half-decent defense he's faced. It's not going to get easier in the NFL under center playing much better defenses.

He has a real issue hanging receivers out to dry, too.

That Vince Young guy did that a lot, too. Just a thought...

He did. Which is why he also wasn't worth a 1st round pick.

He looks like a freakin' World of Warcraft pedophile in that picture.

I do remember similarities between him and Matt Ryan, to be fair. Ryan was inconsistent at times and never completely dominant. He has done better in the NFL than he did in college which is weird.

I do, however, feel that Ryan will always be a great regular season QB and always suck in the playoffs. One and done kind of guy.

How did Gabbert only have 16 TD passes last year? A monster stud NFL prospect with an all conference TE and a 2nd team all conference WR and he could only produce 16 TD passes? Chase Daniels had 39 his last year there.

Now the comparison to Ryan is interesting because Ryan had mediocre stats at Boston college. Ryan had 31 Tds and 19 picks his last year there. Those 19 picks would have bothered me.

Look at Cam Newton vs Gabbert.

Newton 30 TDs passes in 280 pass attempts. A TD every 9.3 attempts.

Gabbert 16 TDs in 475 pass attempts. A TD every 29.6 attempts.

That is stunning! I can't ignore numbers like that. One guy was a fing awesome producer and the other guy was not! And they played in a similar offenses.

And take note not one Auburn RB, TE or WR made an all sec team 1st or 2nd team.

You are drawing that conclusion after just 2 playoff games? What about the Falcons defense that gave up an average of 38 points in those 2 games? Geez wait until he has 5 games under his belt before saying that.
