Gholston at least had upper body strength though.

Still knew he'd bust. Quinn seems like a situational guy... and he may be ok at that- but you don't take 1 down players in the 1st round.

My opinion of Quinn dropped a bit after the combine and my opinion of Watt went up. Now i want Watt with that 8th pick over any other De prospect.

I guess the fact that Dunlap at 278 lbs had a better 10 yard split than Quinn did this year says a lot. tells us what a stud Dunlap was and how Quinn is not worth an 8th pick.

We took Morgan 16th last year. How is Quinn a better prospect than Morgan? He's not.

I agree. Morgan is a good measuring stick IMO. If we take a DE at #8, in a draft real strong at that position, the guy better be significantly better than Morgan.
Watt is definately on my radar. A little bigger than Jared Allen but similar type player (Kerrigan is very similar to Allen as well and almost identical in size and speed but not quite as good as Watt)). Relentless rushing the passer and physical enough to stuff the run. Watt had a ridiculous 37 vertical (guy wighs over 290 pounds) and benched 225 34 times. He also had a 6.88 cone. Quinn by comparison had a 7.13.

Watt would be perfect as our LDE with Morgan playing RDE. Watt can also move inside on pass plays where he has a great set of moves to swim by OGs and penetrate to the QB. We get a guy who is more physical, plays well with his hands and can rush the QB. He is also good at batting down passes and has a great football IQ and hard worker.

Watt came to Wisconsin as a Jr. college TE and became a starting impact DE. That says quite a bit about his work ethic and athleticism.

Every year, people go into the combine saying don't fall into the hype of the numbers. And, every year, people like you completely change their opinions based on .03 seconds? It's ridiculous, some people are just so enamored with numbers and statistics that they don't ever put in the work to watch the film. Just look it up on Google right? The fact is, Quinn's sophomore film was some of the best ever, and I'm not the only one saying it. There are scouts who say the last person with film as good as him was Julius Peppers. But, fine. People see what they want to see. Keep obsessing over your numbers.

Another example of people comparing players based solely on the color of their skin.

thats your view....he was saying it because they are almost the same size and both have a non stop motor....not just cause they are all 3 white....thats you assuming that he happened to compare him to allan because he was white.....

dumb comment by saying they based it on just skin color

Jared Allen is a far better pass rusher, he was in College as well, JJ Watt is stronger, a bit slower, and probably best suited to be a DT. It's a pretty bad comparison, and I seriously doubt it would have been made if they weren't both white...

thats your opinion....i think he will make a very solid d-end for us not even having to be a dt

You lose thre argument right there. Where did i "completely" change my opinion? I said my opinion "dropped a bit". I guess to make your point you have to mischaracterize what i said.

A fact huh? So quinn's 11 sacks and 19 tackles for loss in 09 was better than Bowers 15.5 sacks and 25 tfl this year?

You said best ever. Best ever my arse! If performance on the field was the main issue than Kerrigan's 12 sacks and 26 tkl might make him the best player to take 8th. Watt had more tackles for loss this year than Quinn had in 09 also with 21.

In my analysis of these players i take into account everything. Only a dishonest person would say different. Quinn didn't play last year. He was 5 lbs less than advertised and maybe not quite as fast as advertised. In the meantime my opinions on 2 other players went up. Watt and Kerrigan. That's what i said.
