Ive said that if you are drafting based on talent based on talent, you go with JJ, id like that if glabbert, and perhaps locker, arent available.

But on another front, with the QBs seemingly being bland this year, i feel strongly that a QB picked from the second onwards will surprise people. And if not, draft Luck next year. I have kind of given up on this year regardless of who we get.

EDIT: Just please, get an elite player with a top ten pick. Dont waste it on some guy tha should be a second rounder because a first round QB has marketting value.

We will get a QB high because we are screwed without one, not because of ticket sales or marketing value. No QB in this class is going to bring the kind of clout that bringing in VY did.

We HAVE to have a QB for this season. Our entire team depends on it. Not quite as much for a DT, DE, CB, or OLB. (all positions we are serviceable at. There is no player in these positions not fit to be a starter IMO) Prince Amukamara is not who you build a basically new team around. Anyone can tell you that there is a lot of depth at the DL in this draft, we can pick a lot of D players up later.

They don't have a whole lot of choice unless they get Kolb or another FA.

I don't think there is a defensive player we are going to get at 8 that will magically boost us into being a division winner. They might just have to make the tough decision and reach for a QB, because we have no one. And I doubt the new regime wants to make their first impression with Collins or Rusty Smith, or gamble with whoever is left in the later rounds.

Evidently a cousin of Clinton Portis

Originally played for Florida, then Maryland for 2 years, then California PA. He is also a year or two older than most other QBs because of his transfer to Division 2 giving him more eligibility.

He is also a scumbag: In 2010, Portis was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and fraud for using a stolen credit card at a mall near Pittsburgh

Sounds like a Cam Newton with less talent and character. Should be right up our alley.

He may be worth a later round pick, he is projected as a 7th rd or undrafted. Listed as the 16th best QB by CBS.

I've seen him disappear far too often to think he's that great.

He gets frustrated too easily and once someone is in his head, he shuts down.

Note that I would completely agree with you if we picked in the later half of rounds. I just feel that with a high pick you should get a surefire elite prospect. We will also pick at the top of the second round, which will pretty much give us our pick of the litter on QBs that fell threw the cracks of the first round. It is a safer risk vs reward IMO

It'll be interesting to see how the first 7 picks turn out. If Gabbert, Locker, and maybe Newton are all of the board, I am with you 100 percent.

It doesn't help being the only receiver on a horribly called offense with an average at best QB.

Watch how Alabama plays without Julio and tell me he's not good. The dude is a stud.

I've watched every game that Julio has ever played in, including scrimmages. The guy is for real.

I usually like what you have to say but I do know that you like to disagree just to be different.

It's one thing to say that Julio isn't the right pick for us. It's another to say he's not good.
