The finale of the 6 part prequel is about to air.... I'm a big fan of both this prequel and Spartacus Blood and Sand. The combat effects of this series are similar to 300. I personally thought Blood and Sand first 5 episodes were cheesy based on gore and nudity, but as it continued it really delivered on the drama of the family try to raise their prosperity in Rome.
I thought the first few episodes were kind of cheesy also in blood and sands but I'm very happy I stuck out the season, season finale was unreal. I'm really into the prequel so I expect nothing less tonight.
It's the only show I'm watching now consistently outside of Tosh.0 and Gervais. Some things do annoy me though. Like the overuse of 'f'ing' and 'caulk'... really, why all the modern profanity? They make some line about 'caulk' every 2 seconds.
Watched half the first season by myself. My Mrs caught an episode and said the same thing. I explained just how much back stabbing goes on and how evil and scheming some characters are so we watched it together from the beginning. She's totally hooked on it now. Ashur is one of the best twisted characters I've seen in a long time. Real shame that Andy Whitfield got the big C. My favourite show after Entourage.
Yep, it's the one by Starz. I discovered it on Netflix about 2 weeks ago and I too thought it was cheesy at first, but soon found myself watching like 4 episodes in a row without getting up off the couch. Definitely addicting.
